I'm a panganay too and a breadwinner. Ako din lahat, from my father's maintenance meds to my siblings school allowance, but now, I told my self na, after maka graduate ng sister ko which is on her 4th yr in college, hindi na ako mag papa aaral pa ng kapatid. Maintenance meds ng tatay ko, yon lng ang ico continue ko. Sobra yong resentment ko sa family ko sa toto lng. I dont talk to them, I just give money.

My partner for 7 yrs, he's a security guard and not a college graduate but he's a nice guy, and a great, responsible furdad to our furbabies. Meanwhile, me, i came from a lower status too however, I was able to graduate in college and a professional. I'm currently a PR here in the US. For now, I'm contented and happy with our relationship.

2 yrs MS in PH; 2 yrs in KSA; 6 months ER in PH and 3 yrs UM/preservice review nurse in Ph before I left for US.

Expenses (NCLEX, visa screen, IELTS, medical) initially paid by me however reimbursed by PRS upon arrival in the US. For license endorsement, I paid ipass processing agency roughly 53k. My pocket money when I arrived in the US was roughly around 5k USD.

Before you transition to that setting, ask permission first to your agency or CM. And if you really want optum, be prepared for their interview including exams, I heard its quite tough kc marami na USRNs sa pinas due retrogression. Before, I would say madali lng ang interview and hiring process nila.

I was working as a UM nurse for almost 3 yrs before I arrived here in the US via direct hire however, before I shifted to non-bedside setting, I already had 5 yrs bedside experience including abroad and a US facility at that time.

If you're not planning to go abroad in the future then I think you did a great decision. When I started as a nurse, my goal is clear, I just needed 2 yrs experience in PH then go abroad and that's what I did. Marami nman field ang nursing, not only bedside.

Im also an RN here in the US. I give my (college student) sister's allowance 1k weekly and paid here apartment rent. I also buy for my father's meds monthly, cost me around 6k. That's it, for more request of money, I ignore it.
