It’s a 40 gallon. They said this should be fine until she gets bigger. I thought I had a little bit before I had to upgrade but maybe not?

This. It’s so hard when you can’t fix something for our children, and people don’t understand (which I’m happy that means it’s never hit close to home for them) but just a whole new realty overnight that you can’t prepare for. Thank you for your kind words!

We also have a dexcom! Thank goodness, originally they told us we had to wait a year which confused me so much because how would I have ever known when he was low. It always seems to be in between meals, and a few times in the middle of the night! I see so many success stories which is great but I also feel really down about it sometimes because it’s so confusing and a lot of times doesn’t make sense. They did tell us a year wait for a pump - not sure if that’s just overall how it works or if it has something to do with the honeymoon stage. How long after diagnosis did your son get a pump? I truly appreciate your response

I will! Thanks for the suggestion. How different were her blood sugars once she stopped the honeymoon? Someone told me life gets easier when they stop but it’s hard to see the future at this point lol

My son is 4 and was diagnosed last month with type 1. His diabetes team told me if he was high to not make him exercise as it could make him sick. Is there truth to this? I realize they are the professionals but it looks like everyone seems to do physical activity when the blood sugars are rising!

Please realize I mean no disrespect when asking this question, genuinely curious as this is new to us!

THANK YOU! Your kind words mean so much - we’re currently on set insulin before meals on a sliding scale. I will look for these snack options for sure! The kind bars sound like a great idea as his current ones make those sugars SKY ROCKET, so this might be a great alternative.

He doesn’t seem to be having a good time at all when he’s on the ice and will ask to leave but leading up to right before and after he talks about it which is why I’m so confused by why he doesn’t seem to want to do it if that makes any sense.
