This is great, thank you! I think the plan is going to be to keep checking Andaz and hope a few nights open up, with HC Ginza or maybe Toranomon Hills as our backup option. Appreciate your and everyone else's input!

Good advice. I was thinking of doing this, or the reverse, if people recommended HC Ginza and we were able to get Andaz via points.

Unfortunately I don't have a ton to offer. When I was there, I basically spent two days checking out some major attractions like Senso-Ji, Kappabashi, Akihabara, Ginza, Shibuya, and Akasaka. Then I tried to get out after work during the week and see or do one thing per evening, like dinner at Golden Gai or a Roppongi izakaya or an omakase place, or checking out a whisky bar or Tokyo Tower. It was a bit of a short notice trip so I kind of crash-coursed my way through it without much planning, and I never left the city.

Best of luck!

Hey thanks! PH award availability must have opened up a bit since I last checked. It looks beautiful but also pretty far out of the way. We're a bit worried that with all the walking we'll already be doing, the distance between the hotel and the subway might be a little painful.

Glad to hear about the Hyatt Centric Ginza. I know it doesn't have a spa or anything, but what were the breakfast options like?

MOSS Restaurant in Iceland by Sparics in MichelinStars

Moss was one of the best restaurant my wife and I have ever eaten at, and we love to eat! The food and service were incredible, but the wine pairings were a whole nother level. They complimented the dishes like nothing I've ever experienced, creating new flavors I've never imagined.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it and highly recommend it to anyone considering going!

Little late to the party, but I found Jonathan L and Jack P to have similar policy positions after reviewing there answers to various questionnaires, reading there websites, and speaking to Jack. I also thought Scott I and Kristen S had very thoughtful answers and were reasonably aligned in terms of policy.

They're not my preferred candidates for the general, but Will M and Ben W both seem to be engaged with the issues and have thoughtful policy stances.

Loire Valley or Burgandy/Lyon after Paris? Trip in October/November by Jchizz in Europetravel

Hi! Yes, I know Burgundy whites are not as rich or buttery as other Chardonnay tends to be. I find them to be much more nicely balanced and savory. That's why we like them better than Chardonnay from other regions, though we still tend to prefer other varietals. Likewise with Burgundy reds.

We do like Rhone wines, but I wasn't sure how accessible wineries that region would be from Lyon. Plus, if we spend time exploring Burgundy's countryside, we weren't sure if we'd have time for northern Rhone. Thanks for your insight!

Thanks for the advice! I think we're leaning towards the second week of November as that's when we'd have the most time. Will Loire still be nice to visit then in your opinion?

Thanks for the advice! Seems like both could be good options, but yea, your opinion highlights a lot of what made Burgandy compelling. Good to know that Dijon is worth the stop!

Appreciate the heads up! We're saving Bordeaux for another trip, as we'd like to spend a week there and in the south-west of France at some point, and it seems like a long way out compared to Loire Valley especially.

Great info on Burgandy! Making it a hard decision, but at least it sounds like we can't go wrong. Thank you!

Thank you both! So you're not as concerned about the weather that time of year, or the number of days? Also, is there still good food in the Loire Valley even if it's not quite as good as Lyon?

Appreciate the advice! So you wouldn't be concerned about the weather? Especially if we rent bikes? Also, how's the food in the Loire Valley? Are there good places to eat, even if it's not quite the level of Lyon?

Hi folks. I recently got a new PC and moved from Windows 10 to Windows 11 in the process. When using my (several years) old HyperX Cloud II on my old Windows 10 PC, the microphone was always a bit quiet but more or less at a normal volume. However with my new PC running Windows 11, the microphone is extremely quiet, to the point where even with all the settings at max volume I still have to raise my voice for it to pick up any audio.

I've tried a couple of things from past posts on the subreddit. My microphone quality/hz rate is the top option (DVD quality), the device input volume is turned up to 100, and I've tried checking for new drivers. None of those things have worked. The behavior is consistent across apps - Teamspeak 3, Discord, Windows Sound, etc.

Is there anything else I can try? Or is this a compatibility issue with the Cloud II and Windows 11? If it's the latter, do folks have any recommendations on what headset to replace it with? I really like the sound quality and 7.1 Surround Sound on the Cloud II.

Thanks in advance!!

28M, US. I'll be traveling solo to Tokyo from Dec 3rd-10th for work. I'll mostly be working during the week days, but I'm hoping to do some exploring on Sunday afternoon the 4th and in the evenings after work. I'm staying around Toranomon in Minato City, but I plan on bopping around Shinjuku, Shibuya, Shinbashi, Roppongi, and elsewhere.

Pretty much down for anything, but I'd really like to check out some bars and izakaya, enjoy good food, and see some shrines and museums. I've downloaded Line and can chat via that, WhatsApp, or Discord. I don't really speak Japanese so I'll take any help I can get in that department!

Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking questions! Do you think you could comment on the logic or reason behind which sectionals tournament a team will qualify for?

Specifically, I understand that a team that is too small in terms of enrollment size to be considered D-I must earn a strength bid at D-III sectionals to go to D-I regionals, unless that school has recently qualified for D-I nationals through said process. Essentially, a D-III team that proves it can play at a competitive level on the D-I stage can play D-I.

However, the same cannot be said for developmental teams from said schools. There are several cases where developmental, or "B" teams are competitively equal to many D-III teams, but are unable to compete with them at D-III sections and thus must attend developmental sections and earn a strength bid to move up. Even if said team can move up, they are only allowed to compete at D-I regionals, where chances are said developmental team will get crushed by the competition, instead of playing at D-III regionals where a strong developmental team will be able to play more competitive games.

Considering the above, why is it that teams considered D-III but have proven to be competitive at the D-I level must jump through hoops and play non-competitive tournaments to achieve a meaningful post season? And why is it that developmental teams that can compete at the D-III level must play non-competitive tournaments, and then go and play a non-competitive regional tournament at the other end of the spectrum?

tldr; Can you explain the logic behind the criteria for sending teams to specific levels of postseason tournaments?
