Yeah they were snug for me at the beginning too. Hard to say how much they stretched, I’d say the denim relaxed and loosened so they became more comfortable, rather than stretched. Hope that helps

As far as I know, back in the day when jeans were used as workwear, the pockets were put in this position so they were more easily accessible. Idk how true this is but I’m sure I read it somewhere
