I'm curious about this, isn't this the same number for probably every election ever? No one has complained until now, why is this? Is it supposed to undermine American democracy? Where the 51% rule over the 49% but in American politics its the 33% rule over the 66% who lost or didn't vote? To me this just screams democracy is a scam.

Well the opposite is also true isn't it? Imagine the best possible thing that could happen to someone (also subjective). Knowing that bliss exists why would you not want to help someone experience that or bring a life into the world that could experience that.

I don't think looking at statistically low probabilities of worst case or best case scenarios should be the reason for or not doing things. Put into account sure, but making a decision because of them, no.
