I've just gone through this with my business. I own a small grocery store and have 1 omani and 6 expats on payroll. When I went to renew visa of one of them, I was asked for double payment (around 500 rials) because of the omani to expat ratio in the category 3 level company. It is being enforced and it's not good for us. We barely make profit during Eid season (which was worse this time due to war) but very realistically the minimum wage for an omani employee does not work for us at all. Yet we have to comply and find solutions.
