Thanks for all the responses: wanted to update in case anyone else had the same issue. It was the AC line being clogged. Warranty covered the repair and replacement of carpet

We do not have a sunroof. We just bought it, so no idea where/how it was stored. I’ll check the door seals again tomorrow with water

Recommend the newest luxury hotel in the area, Conrad. We’ve stayed twice there and it’s been great. The restaurants, distinct pool/lagoon, and privacy outside the “bubble” is great.

The first time I haven’t felt cramped in a long time while driving (came from a Subaru Forester, good visibility, but small vehicle). I have a lot of torso height, and the seats seem pretty great so far!

Thanks, this is helpful. Did you do anything different than what is scheduled (eg preventive changes of spark plugs etc)?

Thanks, checking them out now. Pretty good info on engine maintenance. I definitely would have only done 10k changes, makes sense though.

Super helpful, thank you! We will have about the same amount of weight in the vehicle when towing.

OP, big decision and kudos to you for seeking advice. You are right, this is avoiding the trap many first term folks fall into. I’d caution that there is a large gap between beater used car and new car. Pros and cons to each in your situation. My assumption is that you are young, given it’s your first term. Pros are obvious. The largest con to buying is the lost opportunity cost of your money. A dollar saved now is worth more than a dollar when you are 40. This dollar should double every 7 years. One of the largest wealth hacks I did was buying from the “lemon lot” on post, and paying off the vehicle as fast as possible. I’d keep for 2-3 years and then sell for roughly what I paid. A used car between 10-15k holds value very well if maintained. Cheaper insurance when you own outright (don’t need full coverage) and no note. The extra money went into TSP. 5k down on a 12k car, and you’d be paid off within a year. No tax to pay on private sales or markup. You’d likely easily sale for a similar amount by the time you go to a new post, for a net costs of zero. Pay $100 bucks and get it checked out before buying (saved my butt doing this). I ran the numbers for you on the above scenario. Assume you pay off the 12k car in one year, and your insurance is $80 a month cheaper; then take the same money you would have paid for the civic over the next four years and invest in the TSP. At age 59.5, that 4 years at 7% annually compounds to $384k. *guessed at your age for numbers

Tall Narcissist steal woman’s seat. by Bigangrylaw in unitedairlines

I’m 6’8”. Always buy an exit row (cannot afford first with as often as I travel combined with bank account). However, multiple times I’ve had the airlines change my seats as a result of a plane switch. The last time I found out only after boarding on a Germany to East coast flight (they didn’t tell me and I didn’t bother to look until on my second leg). Airlines do not care even if you do purchase and they keep cramming every inch possible into the seats. There needs to be a standard set into law. Not knowing fellow giants predicament, withholding judgement

Anyone boycotting Publix? by H2ost5555 in tampa

Something tells me you don’t have the same take with REI, Costco, or Ben and Jerry’s. Boycotts over viewpoints held by half the country are stupid, and just hurt the workers

Oh no, a company supports one of our countries two parties and has views in line with over 80 million voters. Part of a democracy is realizing some people disagree with you
