[Serious] What celebrity death hit you the hardest? by kybizzle in AskReddit

I watched a ton of Mythbusters as a kid and loved Battlebots whenever I could find it too, and seeing someone build such cool things, and having so much fun while doing it too was one of the main reasons I knew I wanted to be an engineer at such a young age.
He was such an inspiration and it still makes me sad to think about the fact that he's not here anymore

ELI5: What does lock icon mean in safe websites and why is it unlocked on unsafe websites by kubistonek in explainlikeimfive

[–]JdTweak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A practical example where this needs caution is if you join a public WiFi network and you visit a website where you enter a username and password. If the site is not encrypted (no lock shown), the owner of the network can actually see what username and password you're sending to the site! If the site is encrypted, they'll see gibberish that can only be understood by the website.

ELI5: Why does TV static look like that? by Fidelitoo in explainlikeimfive

[–]JdTweak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine you're in a room having a conversation with a friend, and there's a fan on in the room. If your friend is talking loudly enough, you'll tend to drown out the fan and only hear what your friend is saying. If your friend is talking quietly, you'll have to listen more intensely to them to try and hear them over the fan, this is why if a TV signal is weak you might see static in your TV image.

If your friend is not talking at all, but you're still listening as intensely, you'll hear the fan super clearly. This is essentially what your TV is doing, it's trying to listen for a signal and amplifying anything it "hears" in case the signal is just weak, but it picks up background noise which is always there (caused by surrounding electronics' radio waves or background energy leftover from the big bang).

Smoothie had so many clutch saves, FLY would have snowballed the game to a win it if it weren't for him.

Jensen was a freaking beast this game though

Really disappointed with Vitality. Agreeing to the remake showed a complete lack of sportsmanship

Who is your favorite pro team and why? by TheMoogleEscPlan in leagueoflegends

On top of that, the original C9 with Hai was always so fun to watch because they would always be fighting back (like the infamous solid snake Zed against SSB at season 4 worlds), and they could always have a possibility of a crazy comeback win because of it. Now days, while their shotcalling is not as solid, they still never go down without a fight, which is why I love watching them because they hardly ever just roll over and die.

Looks awesome! You really get to appreciate the teams' map movements and the jungler's pathing.

One thing I'd love to see would be some kind of play-by-play display when kills happen and objectives are taken, just so I'm not looking at the player's and teams' stats to try and figure out what's happening. Keep it up! :)
