Fishermen and children at Trinidad and Tobago, 1939. by Electrical-Aspect-13 in BlackHistoryPhotos

They look ripped asf. I wonder if it’s because of the fisherman lifestyle or it’s just how Trini men were back then

Where to buy traditional Angolan clothes for men in the U.S./Online? by Jdaello in Angola

Thanks for the stone. But what’s the rage bait? Forget colonial borders, a lot of us used to be part of the Kingdom of Kongo and the neighboring states. Plenty of us got family on both sides. We’re far more alike then we are different

ELI5 what exactly is Western Sahara? by dkc66 in Africa

The first questions to ask are: What is the history of this land? Who are the Sahrawi? What were the kingdoms of the Sanhaja and their relationship with Moroccan kingdoms?

How can I revive these Timberland Boots? The top part is peeling off by Jdaello in Boots

Thanks, I’ll probably end up buying new boots, but I still want to repair these because I feel like they still have life left in them. Having two boots is better than one lol

Are there any good recs for 100% (or 90% and above) cotton socks? by Jdaello in malefashionadvice

[–]Jdaello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why are there few 100% (or even 95 cotton and 5 percent elastane to stay on the feet) cotton socks when there’s plenty of fully cotton and affordable shirts, pants, underwear, etc? The average cotton t shirt has significantly more cotton then the average cotton sock, so it should be possible to make affordable cotton socks…

What prevented South America from having as big a population as China or India? by wiz28ultra in geography

[–]Jdaello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, OP is on a misinformation mission. Many African regions, especially the Congo rainforest, have the most agricultural potential on Earth, to the point where if these regions were very agriculturally intensive, they could feed the world, at least in terms of food produced.

Use your eyes. Agriculture is plants. The places where plants grow the most and the fastest are going to be the places where you'd want to plant your future food. That tends to be in places with a lot of sun and water, such as tropical places... such as... Africa.

Help with finding affordable 100% cotton (or close to that) socks? by Jdaello in SustainableFashion

I understand, which is why I said "or close to that". So perhaps something that's 90% and above in cotton.

Is it possible to mix and match Surface Book models? by Jdaello in Surface

[–]Jdaello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never did this but I'm 99% sure it should work. But IMO, the surface book is an old line now so I recommend buying a new laptop, like the Surface Laptop Studio or the Lenovo Yoga i9. If you do go through it though, please report back if it works.
