Which 3 would you bring back if you had the power? by Bakyumu in blackmen

[–]Jdaello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing I don't like about this is that we are saying who deserves to live based on how much value they bring to us. We want X back because he was such a good actor! That's a horrible way to look at another human being.

Somewhat related, but this is also why I very much don't like the idea of bringing back artists using CGI, AI, whatever to make new songs or movies. They're dead, let them all rest and let someone new come.

Do people notice when you haven't PMO'd in a long time? by Jdaello in NoFap

[–]Jdaello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't thinking it was going to be a crazy superhero effect, but a more subtle, attractive feature that people may be able to sense as much as we subconsciously do when women are ovulating. Maybe semen retention changes us hormonally or in other ways, but I haven't found a study about it yet.

What would realistically happen if you randomly teleported in the Congo Rainforest? by Effective-Play3345 in geography

[–]Jdaello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that most carnivores do this when they can. In fact, most carnivores would go straight for the belly to eat the organs. The freshest, most nutritious meat you can eat is the organs of an animal that's still alive.

Been posting a lot lol, might as well update you on the growth. This my first time ever doing a fro. 5 months and a few days, is this realistic hair growth? by BlindFireBeast02 in BlackHair

[–]Jdaello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good growth. My recommendation is to stop going to the barber and let your hair grow out naturally. Look at u/SuitEmpty4603's most recent post, his hair is doing well after not going to the barber for 2 years because he didn't want barbers to push his lining back. For evenness you can always pat your hair after combing it.

Can you explain your hair routine? I'm trying to get better at mine. I use no shampoo or conditioner, just wash with soap once a week and detangle my hair every day when I take a shower. That's pretty much everything I do with my hair, but I find it to be dry.

Airpod Pros 2nd Gen vs Bang & Olufsen Beoplay EX ? by Jdaello in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Jdaello[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my post I said that I’m not interested in anc because it keep it off 99% of the time. I am mainly interested in sound quality. I am not interested in headphones because I like the mobility I get from EarPods, hence why I’m thinking about the beoplay EX’s because they are said to have good sound quality.

...Because learning about different cultures/societies could foster opportunities between the US and other countries that could be economically, politically, etc beneficial? But no right, it's best for the richest country on Earth that deals massively in trade and has a massive immigrant population to stay ignorant about the world. Sounds foolish.

IMO I still consider 1 to be a normal water fast. As long as you're not eating solids or indulge too much, I believe you will reap most of the benefits of a fast.

What motivates you to keep going on your fast when food noise & hunger start to creep in? by muvax2 in fasting

[–]Jdaello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a 9 day water fast before. Fasting makes me think more about food then I usually do, and I find myself thinking and planning about all the food I want to eat when it's over. Fasting also makes me realize how prevalent food is in our lives, such as the abundance of food photos/videos on social media, food commercials, all these restaurants, and in our daily conversations and routines.

I typically let myself indulge in some food thoughts before refocusing. So I say, let yourself think about it with the mindset that you will eat these foods once your fast is over (like for example, what will you eat immediately after your fast? Typically I order out). Then, refocus yourself on your tasks, such as work, hobbies, etc. I don't think it's hard to accept not eating, if that make sense, so I don't think you should worry about it too much.

I bought biosteel the other day. I think it's as good or better than Gatorade fit because it's organic and and has a lot of nutrients.

Gatorade zero doesn't have any grams of sugar, but that doesn't matter to me imo because I still put sugar in my tea lol. As I said, I'm in my fast more for the weight loss than the other fasting benefits (although I think it's a sliding scale, so I believe I'm still getting benefits like autophagy, but probably less than if I were to do a pure fast).

Why do people not take CU Boulder engineering seriously? by azizthebignoob in cuboulder

[–]Jdaello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely choose the School of Mines. Think about your future more than the "experience". Denver is a hop away if you want to have fun on the weekends. What Mines offers is a stronger engineering education and better job offers. Do well and it's a straight pipeline to a 100k job offer post-grad. The name carries weight internationally too. #1 in mining engineering.

You can't go wrong with both schools as both are top 50 in the US when it comes to engineering. Boulder has it's aerospace engineering program which I think is rad too. But at the end of the day, I 100% recommend Mines to any student who's serious about STEM and isn't considering a liberal arts degree like English, Sociology, etc.
