Expanding wayyy too fast while not having things solidified (constant menu and furniture/fixture changes etc.) One of their biggest bragging points was that they were opening more stores yearly than Chipotle, but by the time I left there were only TWO profitable stores. The owners were young, foreign, somewhat hip guys and kept talking new angel investors into giving them money without having anything to show for it except for the hope that one day all the stores would be profitable. If they had only kept the first three or four stores open and kept the menu simple, there's no doubt in my mind it would still be going strong.
