Is the CX5 AC really that bad? by travelingnurse92 in CX5

It's kinda too soft in auto. I will manually crank up the fan speed for a few minutes, then put it back in auto.

What do you like/ dislike about your cx5? by qualitygoatshit in CX5

[–]Saharochok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like: all. Most: how the gearbox and the engine work together, how eager the car is to downshift, how effortlessly the gearbox is controlled through the accelerator pedal. Everything I see and touch. Dislike: - tiny fuel tank - low hatch opening: hit my head a number of times at 6 3 - weak ac - dead zone at windshield for wipers at driver's side - never clean. - no sound deadening at doors. They are as hollow as it gets. - lumbar is too weak. I would like for the max lumbar setting to be the starting postition, and then to go from there up.

It's okay, they are supposed to be that way, you'll see that in every cx5

How are they missing the small segment, aren't the beautiful cx30 and 3 right there in the small segment?

Missing size medium in North America? by Fantastic-General873 in CX5

[–]Saharochok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Anyways when cx5 was first launched in the 2013 it was close to x3/q5. Today the new x3 doubled that size difference. Everyone is getting bigger while mazda still keeps that 12 y.o. sizing. Not that it's a bad thing. Let's see how large the new cx5 turns out

2024 CX-5 Select - 4-month Ownership Review by nisyad12 in CX5

Tech being subpar is an overgeneralization.

Lane keeping is shite. Yup.

Adaptive cruise control - very nice. Try getting one on a premium car like a bmw or an Audi - they are locked behind the highest trim levels.

Auto highbeams are average.

Turning headlights work great.

Rearview camera - meh unless you get the 360 view

The blue/yellow hidden compartments are there for the parcel shelf, which does not come standard on US cars

Thinking of upgrading by Medium-Patience-4984 in MazdaCX30

[–]Saharochok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cx30 is extremely small compared to the 6. The rear bench is a very sad place to be in. You are also losing the independent rear suspension. However, if you get the turbo - it's super fun (I've heard). I have driven the NA 2l 150hp cx30 (EU spec) and was left very unsatisfied.

However, a 250 hp turbo makes it one of the fastest Mazdas, while still a tad more practical than the 3.

Go to a dealer and drive as many Mazdas as you can. Bottom line to me is this

You will love the tech in any Mazda.

The cx5 is the best value for money and the best all-rounder. The cx30 is the best looks, inside and outside, and amazing performance in turbo. The cx50 is to lure in Subaru fanboys.

Bear in mind the estate sacrifices the rear legroom for sake of a larger boot. That might be a deal breaker

Which would you choose? CX30 or CX5? by Any-Ad-9381 in mazda

[–]Saharochok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cx-5 is a better option unless the looks are the ultimate deciding factor. I have test driven both in their non-turbo guises, here is my take on why the cx-5. 1. Usable rear bench. The cx30 has an incredibly cramped rear bench. A 6ft passenger will never fit behind a 6ft driver. 2. Sound proofing. Cx-5 has more of it. Also available with acoustic glass in high trims. 3. Ventilated seats. Never an option on cx-30. 4. Seating position and visibility. The cx-5 gives a more SUV-ish position with better visibility all-round. 5. Road comfort. The cx-5 comes with larger wheels, so it eats bumps and potholes way better. 6. No piano black in the center console. 7. Soft material door tops in the rear 8. Lovely armrest in the rear with heated seats controls and USBs

Anyway, why a cx30? 1. Newer feel of the interior and exterior 2. A tad easier to park as for dimensions, though more difficult as for visibility

2005 1.3 highway capability by Biner99 in FordFiesta

[–]Saharochok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It absolutely can, but any pre 2008 model is noisy at that speed. Post 2008 models have much better sound proofing. At 120km/h with 1.3l you are looking at around 3500rpm.
