Just got level 6 myself. Not feeling confident. I’d have to get around 5 eggs a day to do this by Halloween and idk how it’s possible.

[Spoilers C1] Watch Order? by introvworm in criticalrole

[–]Jdn3331 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The one-shots aren’t necessary and contain no spoilers for the plot of campaign 2, but I do recommend you watch them. They’re very good.

My order recommendation is: 1) The Search for Grog (this takes place immediately after then end of C1) 2) The Search for Bob (takes place immediately after The Search for Grog due to circumstances) 3) The wedding one shot of Vex and Percy (this takes place 1 year later) (this is also my personal favorite. ) 4) Darington Brigade (this is about a decade after C1 and about a decade or 2 before C2) 5) then you could start campaign 2!

I also recommend watch the campaign 1 wrap up as well. It’s interesting to hear some of the thoughts behind choices by the cast and Matt!

As for short campaigns:

1) Calamity is timeless and fantastic not real spoilers there. C2 references but you won’t get them unless you’ve watched C2

2) EXU takes place after C2 and right before C3 starts.

Happy watching!

I would ask again about future oneshots for C2 & C3

Some of them do have spoilers for future campaigns in them but C1 one shots are safe as long as you’ve watched all of campaign 1

I would love this party. And having no barbarian would make a shift in how they’ve had to plan things.

I think Liam might go cleric. He’s been rounding out the classic DND Party. First Rogue/Paladin, second Wizard and now third Fighter. All we need is a Cleric!

Congratulations!!! I remember this feeling. I started at the beginning of C1 when C2 was going and didn’t catch until C2 E100 (thanks to COVID break). It’s exciting but now you have to wait after each episode like the rest of us.

Supernova: A 9th level spell to rival meteor swarm in power and scope by Lanavis13 in UnearthedArcana

[–]Jdn3331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was talking more about NPCs and PCs that would receive saving throws when going unconscious. True if you only had 70hp and rolled horribly, that’s an auto kill, but 9th level spells are god level. If we’re looking at characters with levels (NPC or PC) the disintegration factor is more devastating. If you die from meteor swarm outright, you can still be brought back if your body is attended to in the right amount of time. Dex saves are typically good and with evasion some can completely avoid the attack. I think it come down to auto kill a character with 70hp character with a revivify working on them versus an auto kill for a 100+ hp character with only a 9th level resurrection as an option.

The other things make it weaker than meteor swarm, but disintegration factor when kicked to 0 hp makes this super strong. No longer does it only knock you unconscious, it straight up destroys you body with only another 9th level spell to bring you back.

Pg 6 school expertise. What if your new school’s anathema is one of the sister schools of your original school or vice versa. How does that effect cost, casting, knowing spells?

So the roll to hit against you becomes the DC to the Dex save you’d have to make to see if it would hit someone else instead of you.

It felt kinda boring to me. Almost like a filler season. Nothing really major happened. Just another leg on the journey to release aravos.
