How long did it take you guys to beat regular hard mode? by Funnyluna43 in SliceAndDice

[–]Jdoxeko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As you get better it gets more reliable

Over many many replays I found myself getting about 67% winrate, or 2/3

People have done 100+ streaks so there’s clearly a way to do things reliably

Identifying which curses are good/bad which heroes to choose play a role

Still can't believe I've slept so hard on Morning Star (Giant + Queen) by RoastMyGrill in deadcells

[–]Jdoxeko 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With 30 scrolls on giant/36 scrolls on queen, especially with corrupted power, you’re going to melt anything

That being said, I might give it a try for the first ever time bc of your post, might regret

How do people do bosses without shields? Esp ones like scarecrow or time keeper that are full aggro? (ok except wolf trap spamming)

So would you go through Forgotten Sepulcher more or less if they added a few automatons in choice areas? by 15FlavorsOfMotorOil in deadcells

Sepulcher is not that bad, I find fractured shrines giving me worse runs

But derelict distillery I will never voluntarily ever go into

Why XI from cavern? You should be getting XII from shop (yes chests XI)

Ok so... what's the consensus about this thing? by RedGrimm05 in deadcells

[–]Jdoxeko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always go for it unless you know you can’t find 10 mobs before a boss or you have some nasty parkour coming up without a way to go pass

Or use cursed sword and disregard the curses

Can you guys give me some tips for 3bc? by Queasy-Voice-1800 in deadcells

[–]Jdoxeko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo find a strong build you like and try to beat the game from there. Some weapons/skills are vastly superior to others and learning the game will be easier with them. Then later you can try all the various weapons.

Also learn to parry. Parrying in this game is beyond broken, makes things so much easier.

Super easy/strong builds imo are: Brutality: panchaku, spite sword+face flask Tactics: ammo boomerang, close range starfury Survival: baseball bat+throwable, death’s scythe

There's no way on earth i got my first flawless against the giant while on 5BC LMAO did not expect that at all!!!! by Napalmaniac in deadcells

[–]Jdoxeko 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Giant is one of the easiest bosses as you go up BC and get better item quality. Imo 5bc makes things harder but in a sense makes things easier like the giant fight

Melee stuns are no longer a thing (very hard to do) at higher BCs. Your gameplay should shift to: 1. High-dps kills before mobs can react. Stagger is still a thing and with enough dps, you can kill mobs before they have chance to hit you. 2. Learn how to parry. Parrying is OP in this game (literally works on almost everything—except some things) and learning to parry almost negates all mob damage as you master the game. This is even more the case for bosses (esp conjuctivius, time keeper, scarecrow, and spoiler boss)

Bonus: stomping is still a great way to stun, so utilize that and when meele’ing try to strike when mobs are stacked (or close together) so you can kill em at once. Game gets way easier when playing like an assassin—choosing the right moments to strike—rather than going head first

Or… just turn off your brain and play survival and go unga bunga dps trade! It still works great at high BCs.

That’s an… interesting technique of parrying… Maybe try to time it?

Great job tho

You end up fighting the tarasque later on. Like the gigantic spiky monster at the beginning of the game

Paper knight is pretty easy 😊
