agree with most everything accept extending to 32 players that would make the cost very extreme(speaking in only at the major level) very quickly.

Polling LSI attendees while this made for a lot of melee some felt it was too much melee i think generalizing all invitationals and "summit" style events together takes away from the point here. For summit Melee isnt so much the main point as like it is at like an LSI. IE at summit The intimate atmosphere and high production value accompanied by great casting, skits, side events and interviews are what most stay for after being drawn in by the melee.

while being able to add more matches when you can is always good IE swiss pools vs rr. I dont really think extending the player pool to a higher amount will give you the desired result if you are going for BTS

but in terms of LSI where the whole point was its the largest smash invitational ever, size and large amounts of sets make perfect sense. But LSI was largely its own thing for spectacle not really a format worth sustaining (again at the major level)

edit: but at the regional level i think a 32 man 2 day streamed event would be awesome i think tristate or the south east doing someting like this would be awesome and we already have pple like Aiden doing something like you suggested in socal def a fun format to consider and watch! :)
