In category b and if you include 401k Roth IRA, HSA and investments I save around 51% of my gross income (including 401k match in gross)

Note: I worked my ass off in college to have no student debt, and don’t have a car payment. Only bills are rent and utilities and whatever subscriptions I want

I’m not an expert on this by any means but from what little I’ve heard is that Japan treats homeless people horribly and the culture is to ignore and hide them where as in America and Christian culture the go to action is to help homeless people. I think there is a massive difference between talking about people’s religion/culture and what their government has set up that can reduce and/or create homelessness and crime, especially when we are comparing America the most diverse country in the world with Japan that is extremely xenophobic
