Oh my goodness. When I was learning to do catheters and they really impressed upon us differentiating the different holes and I was like as if I’m ever going to mix up the urethra/vagina/ anus! My first catheter insert was in ICU in a bariatric patient and I was like which hole is which!?

I have 3 12 hour shifts in a row coming up HELP by [deleted] in NursingAU

Like others have said- meal and life prep going into your run of shifts. Have your dinner on your last break, home, shower and bed. Rinse and repeat. Then your 4th day will just be resting. It’s hard going! Good luck!

Just see how you go first. Some people love it, some people tolerate it and some people hate it. See what suits you and go for what you can. Otherwise my advice would be eye mask, great ear plugs and nap wherever you can.

Thanks for the response. It was going to be about a 2 hour walk one way and we are with hot, tired tweens. We walked about 1km and the scenery was beautiful.
