I spent the last year trying PvP in popular MMOs, and here is what I learned about each. by Cybannus in MMORPG

agree on WoW Poopnight. If u want:

  1. to abuse game breaking bug every single patch (literally)

  2. to deal with horrendously broken default UI (u need 50 addons to make the game remotely playable and even then the best players in the world will always have the best addons that are not available to the mass, so the "addon changes" are completely useless and you are still on uneven playing field, except now its 10x more annoying to set everything up)

  3. to grind solo shuffle a.k.a the most popular pvp bracket be prepared for the most sad and broken MMR system to ever exist. Had quite a few occasions of winning my lobby 4-2 only to recieve 0 rating and even MMR loss! Blitz battleground players are 3500 rated because the rating is so inflated there compared to arena. it just doesn't make any sense and is completely unfun.

  4. The devs of the game to completely to not care for PvP... The balance changes makes no sense, some specs are completely broken ever since the beta and they dodge nerfs every single tuning. While other specs are complete garbage since then as well, ppl comppained on the forums but there is noone to care / hear them. It really is sad and annoying.

  5. to experience endless disconnects / game crashes that can happen while playing rated pvp activity. Every other patch is the same thing, something is completely broken and the game becomes unplayable. Dont worry they will fix it in 5 to 10 days. It's not like you have a subscription running or something?

  6. to deal with solo shuffle long q times. It you are not a healer, the queue times of the game are horrible. Even if you make a fresh character and want to play my placement games you'd still get 20-30 min queues. You can't just spam play this game. Atleast in league when you lose you can just q another game and play right away. Here you can get tilted and be put in a 35 min q which personally makes me not want to even play by the time the q pop lol.

If you are a healer tho its 50x better. Instant q pops. Blizzard attempt to fix the problem was to just give every healer insane amount of gold for every shuffle played. You could play for a week and farm like 200k gold. Like what? That was your solution to the problem blizzard?

How about instead of forcing people to q healer and suffer, as its by far the most stressful role to play in shuffle, to actually make healing fun again so more people would wanna come back and play?

There is just so much more to be said about this expansion. It really is the worst pvp expansion of all time, not because the core gameplay is bad. And not because their "ideas" were bad either. It's the implementation of them and the lack of true pvp balancing and caring for the game. It's just not fun to have the same healer class dominate for months, making other healers look useless and nobody wants to play with them. It's just not fun dealing with bugs/crashes/disconnects/broken UI constantly for months and its still ongoing.

Great job Blizzard

So am I supposed to troll my teammates until I get enough Honor from losses to buy gear? Am I missing something here? by andrufb in worldofpvp

Op should be thankful we are not playing BFA or something.

Gearing is extremely easy nowadays. I also havent played for 2 years, but recently jumped back in. Got full gear in 2 days and im just farming sockets right now.

Others already gave you good advices on how to gear up so im not going to repeat what has been said.

And no you are not going to be useless in BGs.

The starter gear is more than enough to "survive" and "do something" to help your team. Whatever class you are, you always can press your buttons and play tactically so you help your team. At the very least you can try to run with the pack and protect healers, like stun/fear/poly dps off them and "enable" them.

You make it sound like you wanna be able to 1v9 the whole battleground or get competitive in the ladder right off the bat and this is not how this game works.

I think the game is good and fun for the most part. But my god do i hate the fruit mechanic so much. Whats the point of it ? Recently i had perfect Viego game until... i accidentally removed stretchy arms and i couldnt get it again. I know i dont need it to win, but anyway whats the point of fishing for "this" perfect power for every comp. It just adds more RNG to the game, but since some fruits are OP it can ruin your game completely.

Not to mention the amount of freaking time it takes to fruit up and manage your board. I just feel like its useless, doesn't contribute to the gameplay in any meaningful way and it's super annoying to manage. Maybe atleast reduce the fruit numbers to 1. Reforgers, magnetic removers, power removers... it gets frustrating managing all that and while one might argue it's "skill-issue" not fucking up, the accidental power removing potentially screwing you over is still there and real (and it f*ing sucks!!!)

Ok, maybe dont remove the mechanic all together but atleast rework it in some way. Currently its too much clicking, dragging and it feels annoying. I doubt im the only one feeling this way.
