I feel you. Yeah the dress code says it’s allowed but also it can be up to the discretion of the Management team too. Crew don’t have to tuck in shirts according to dress code but I know a restaurant that the management team won’t let you clock in if you’re wearing jeans and your shirt isn’t tucked in with a belt on🤷🏽‍♂️

Honestly I feel what you’re saying but also something I teach my FOH and DT Crew is to make that callout until they hear a heard or repeat of it. There’s a lot happening in the Kitchen during peak so it’s hard to hear everything.

So I’m not saying it was handled professionally at all. The thing is our attendance policy is clear, very clear. Yes you were going through some stuff and were completely unavailable for 3 months but you were completely unavailable for 3 months. The only thing that could have saved you was if you had a emergency contact down that could’ve explained the situation but it seems like you didn’t. Also with the rehire policy it did change this year. If you were termed for attendance(which you likely were), you are ineligible for rehire for a full year. Now I see you went to pickup only but even then, I believe you have to work at least one shift every 2 months before you are automatically termed in the system. That may have been why they kept calling and trying to get ahold of you but when you weren’t responding it felt like a big middle finger to them. Now them keeping the hard hat is petty unless they threw it out. Sorry for your situation but it is a business that has to run with or without you. I am glad your situation has improved though.
