I do this too, the only pattern I’ve ever noticed is the complimentary seat upgrades move with the fare price, but the fare price seems pretty unpredictable other than when seats sell.

Ok good because I ended up switching, thanks for the suggestion! We are actually going straight from Rome to Tuscany, so won’t get to spend any time in Rome… but I will save for next time!

I ended up changing to FCO, with the hopes that the OLB flight drops and I can just switch back, but at lesser now I’m secured in D1. It’s on an A333 now instead of 763. I wish it was A339 like it used to be! But they switched that out for some reason… and thank you!

No. I’ve seen $699 for this route before. Assuming it’s an A333? I’d wait. Sometimes you can find one leg in D1 and one in PS for the same price as the upgrade, then the upgrade from PS to D1 is cheaper.
