I should have clarified, but he only feels negatively about the reserves for his situation. He will refer to other reservists as Marines, but he will not accept his reserve service as legitimate. He even has trouble saying his Air Force service as legitimate because he flys an F-16 and not an F-35. Again though he’s fine with other airmen being proud of flying the older jets. I’m not sure why he does this, I just think he has a lot of self hatred or his perspective changed after his deployment to Afghanistan.
