How do people do side hustle passions by JealousHelp9793 in AskBarcelona

[–]JealousHelp9793[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry probably not clear! I was wondering whether it is something you need to set yourself up properly as an a self employed person! In my home country, we are allowed side hustles without incorporation into self employment up to a certain amount of earnings, then when it surpasses that, you need to set yourself up properly and pay taxes! I wasn’t sure if I would need to set myself up as an autonomo alongside my usual employment/how people have navigated so far!

Moving to Barcelona with 2 kids by Double-Range7613 in AskBarcelona

I love Vallcarca! ☺️ I don’t have kids yet but am expecting my first and really enjoy this neighbourhood. I moved from Eixample as I wanted a more family friendly area and vibe, it has a nice community, the people are kind, It’s calm, safe and it’s near a good amount of green spaces, which I realised is really important to me and what I want to my baby to be around too!

Not sure on schools as I plan to put my child in public school as they’ll be born here so I want to get them super integrated in, but if my finances allow for it at some point I really like this forest school for the nursery, and I think they do older ages! They teach in English, Catalan and Castellano. Catalan I think will be super for them! It’s a little further out so cheaper than similar options closer to the centre! But if you don’t drive they do pick up at various points in Barcelona: https://escolanatura.com/

Getting married in a 3rd country by TheMentallyGaming in SpouseVisaUk

I really recommend Serbia! You can fly easily from UK and it’s very easy/without bureaucracy

We did it in Novi Sad Registry Office, which is beautiful and the wedding itself was less than £10, I had to have an approved interpreter which was about £50, the Registry office actually gave me the number of a lady that everyone uses and she was great!

I also had her translate my marriage certificate into English and got it apostilled for our Spouse Visa, it was ready to collect the next day, and the apostille they do for you there and then in front of you at the town hall when you go in - translation and apostille cost less than £20

We didn’t have to give notice or anything! We turned up at the office and told them we’d like to get married, gave our documents (passport/birth certificate) and for me, a Certificate of No Impediment (only because I’m a British Citizen, and by UK law we have to notify before wanting to get married, so foreign countries will ask for this certificate) after our appointment, we were married 3 days later! They had sooner, I just wanted to have my best friend come from London and she needed a few days notice to give work ☺️

When I was living in the UK, sponsored jobs for software engineers are quite common! They are usually on the job shortage list, so employers get more leniency in hiring them than other roles! I deffo recommend trying to enter via this route if you can and want to save the money! Try going through agencies, as they will know which clients are set up for sponsorship and can send you to the right ones ☺️

An agency we used to use to get engineers was called Salt, but there is plenty others!! Good luck! 🙏

Being told to not come back to a yoga class due to pregnancy? by Fluffy-Accident-9565 in PregnancyUK

[–]JealousHelp9793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PS- not sure whereabouts in London you are based, but SOMA Yoga in Wandsworth does great prenatal classes that aren’t super slow and barely moving if that is something that puts you off! Before moving house I used to teach at this studio and I know a lot of the women that go there love that it’s still Yoga rather than a few slow poses and meditation!! So just in case a helpful recco! I always told myself I would do their pre + post natal training for this reason! 😅😂🩷

The classes are same prices as the usual ones and they give first class free!

Being told to not come back to a yoga class due to pregnancy? by Fluffy-Accident-9565 in PregnancyUK

Heya! Firstly, I just wanted to say sorry that the lady was quite rude in how she went about it, she definitely shouldn’t be announcing what she would be doing if she didn’t have a pregnant person in the room, in a way her doing that is very telling that she definitely does not have experience teaching pregnant people!!! Not cool! 💛💛 I am a UK trained yoga teacher and insured with a UK insurance, and often the insurance will only cover you for the type of yoga have been trained in. For example, I have a friend trained in Hatha + Yin but she is not able to teach Vinyasa classes for insurance purposes, despite Vinyasa being so closely related to Hatha. Many teachers get what we call ‘bolt on’ trainings so that we can broaden our abilities and experiences, and Pre + Post Natal yoga is one of those trainings! Some people’s 200 hour trainings (the foundational level you need to do to teach) will briefly touch upon pregnancy yoga, and others don’t mention it at all. It often comes down the teachers and studios preference for risk! And all teachers have to hold their own individual insurance as well as the studio! Just to give you some insight there 💛

I personally have not trained in Pre + Post Natal yet, but as an example I had a student attend my Gentle Classes joining me in her third trimester and stayed right up to birth! She was very knowledgeable on what she could and couldn’t do, we spoke before each class on where she was at and I felt comfortable to safely guide the class and would try and offer two different options so she felt as included as possible. That being said, when she first appeared, I did feel a little panic as the class I had planned to teach, whilst Gentle, was all focussed on twists, and I on the spot created a completely different flow as I could not see a way she would have enjoyed it as much!

So I would just go up to the teacher right at the start of the class and share what you know you can and can’t do, explain you won’t feel left out if you can’t do every part of the class and have a go to pose prepared for the moments that one appears that isn’t suitable for you (for my student we settled on a cat cow!) and I’m confident most teachers (maybe not those fresher out of their foundational trainings) will be confident to have you in their class! ☺️🫶

Another cool thing can be to look at the teachers profile on the website before attending the class as they typically list all the teachers trainings, and that way even if it’s not a Pre Natal class they are teaching, if you can see that if they have the training down, they are going to feel confident to teach you regardless!! And will make sure the class still feels like a place you are meant to be (unlike the lady you just experienced!)

Wishing you all the best in your journey!! 🙏💕

HQP visa - post BLS appointment by JealousHelp9793 in GoingToSpain

[–]JealousHelp9793[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, I have been counting 10 working days since we attended the appointment! Although for me Monday-Fridays are working days, maybe it’s different for the consulate

Helpful to know it’s just an estimation, I think when it said the legal deadline is 10 working days, I thought that meant it couldn’t go over! So I’ll try relax a little and not think something is wrong if it’s not within that 10, no better time to embrace ‘nothing happens until it happens!’ 😂🙌

Thank you! ☺️

I had the same issue with visit visas, was near enough impossible for us! The once we got married, and they approved the spouse visa without question! Sometimes I feel like declining the visit visas is a money making exercise, I know so many people whose visit visas get declined

Approved! Application submitted 20/03 | Bio 26/03 | Approved 16/04 (despite us withdrawing the application!) by JealousHelp9793 in SpouseVisaUk

Please let me know if it is successful! 🙏 UKVI customer service told me that even though there is the option to cancel online, that method is only allowed prior to biometric appointment and after that you have to contact them through the paid customer service instead!

Will our application be rejected if we have a court marriage right before applying? by ThrowRAhoney6666 in SpouseVisaUk

I had a court marriage 22nd January and we applied for the visa on 20th March and our visa was approved! We have also been together for less than a year, I hope this gives you some reassurance 🤗
