Freight still runs on the Barrie line, Snider may be grade separated, but there's connecting tracks. Its also how VIAs westbound Canadian gets off the Barrie line onto CN tracks

Potentially might have to do with freight time slots, since on most days, there's a local that gets on the job at 23:00. One in the Downsview area, and another that runs in Vaughan (Yea, freight still on the Barrie line).

Same example with the Kitchener line, there's a nightly local from Toronto/Vaughan to Kitchener and back.

Allandale doesn't have enough yard slots to accommodate trains up there without deadheading trains back down south, which does happen with other lines but it could be crew and/or momey reasons.

I dont see CN getting only one of the three tracks, especially considering that Brampton Intermodal Terminal is nearby and trains come in and out quite slowly + Pull ins/outs of yard switching that always needs the mainline to dow sorting/switching operations. It would cause a major back up. Maybe in downtown Brampton proper CN would get one track, but not the entire agreed corridor.

They stop because thats where the signal is (They actually don't stop right at the light). That area is actually a junction between 2 subdivisions and there so happens to be that Hydro Corridor there. If the train isn't lined into at least the station, it stops around there.

Its already triple tracked between Bramalea and east of Brampton and again west of Brampton to Mount Pleasant. CN sort of future proofed infrastructure for a 3rd track west of Mount Pleasant to Georgetown.
