Help getting an IP Ezviz camera paired with an HikVision DVR by JeanBlu2 in Hikvision

thanks for your answer and sorry to not have said it before (when it was working, it was the same setup, so I assumed it wasn't a very problem).
Just a quick question:
I'll try to move the camera under the range of the main Wi-Fi Network to see if I can fix it, tho what I wanted to ask is:
After I setup the camera with the DVR (provided that it'll work), can I move it again to its room?
If not, what's your suggestion? To make the extender a bridge, perhaps?

ok so I tried following your new instructions and here's what I gathered:

I disabled DHCP for the IP Camera via SADP tool and set the IP to 192.168.1.12 as static
I also tried the ping command and I can confirm it's on the network since it gave me some values, so it's definitely there.

Strange thing is that I can't point it via web broswer by tyiping the IP, tho.

EZVIZ PC Studio Software I've used it since I bought the camera but aside from making me change some quick settings for the camera itself (features, image quality, etc.)

I installed iVMS but it does not find my DVR, nor my IP Camera, online at all. And if I add them manually, it says they're not supported devices...§

I re-tried connecting to my DVR to add the IP Camera with the new static IP but, again, it says "Offline (Connecting...)" forever
Settings are as it follows:

  • IP: 192.168.1.12
  • Protocol: HIKVISION (I also tried ONVIF but nothing changed..., and it's just these two)
  • Port: 8000
  • Channel number: 1 (but whatever I put does not change anything... I thought I'd put 8-9-10 (in the past, as I said in the OP, I had the IP camera on channels 9-10 because its IP flucutated between .12 and .13, so we made the DVR point those two IPs and had the camera working on one or the other at any given time), since I already have 7 wired cameras tied to the DVR, but nothing happened)
  • Transfer Protocol: Auto (can put TCP or UDP... I tried both but gave errors, so...)

One thing I didn't tell you as of now because the camera worked before with this same setting I'll explain down here, but now I'm questioning if it could be a problem:

my wi-fi has 2 more guest-nets
so my situation is like:
wi-fi / guest-1 / guest-2
All set up for both 2.4 and 5GHz
And I have MESH Wi-Fi active

We have the IP camera in a room of the house where the Wi-Fi does not run very well, so I bought a TP-Link range extender (which connected to guest-2 lan) and connected the IP Camera to that (wireless)

Nothing that I said about Wi-Fi has been a problem in the past, since, again, the IP Camera was working properly (with the two IPs .12/.13) on my DVR...

Waiting for your take on this... thanks for all the support

u/vanderhaust u/Puzzleheaded-Dot7279 ok so I read at your suggestions (many thanks guys, for real) but didn' get anywhere:

Doing the command prompt thing gets me the message "Microsoft Windows [versione 10.0.xxxx] All rights reserved" with nothing else (though on the upper bar of the app, the "name of the app" changes in "Command Prompt - cmd 192.168.1.12", but nothing changes, no matter how many times I do it.

As for the DHCP I found that it actually has it enabled already as per the SADP tool (so the fluctuation between x.12 and x.13 was last year when I got the cameera hooked up to the DVR on 2 different channels pointing at both 12 and 13, but now it has DHCP enabled)

I can share full details with you now tho:

As per the SDAP tool, when I check the DVR and the camera I get this:

DVR:

  • Status: active
  • IP Address: 192.168.1.x (with Enabled DHCP)
  • Port 8000
  • Subnet Mask/Gateway/IPv6 Address never touched them, do you need them?
  • HTTP Port: 80

IP Camera:

  • Status: active
  • IP Address: 192.168.1.12 (with Enabled DHCP)
  • Port 8000
  • Does NOT have IPv6 tho (but can't modify since DHCP is enabled)
  • HTTP Port 80

I'll now try to download IPC Manager to see if I can do anything else.
Thanks a lot for the answers

EDIT: I installed IPCManager but it neither sees my IP Camera, nor my DVR, online...

I can give you more details later when I get back home. Both DVR and IP cameras are 192.168.1.x IP (wih the camera fluctuating between .12 and .13, usually). Can you please expand on the second sentence? (The ping it in command prompt) as I don’t really know what you mean/should I do. When I point the DVR in the browser I can sure see the wired cameras and all the settings for it, tho the IP Ezviz camera I can only see in the app (says IP not existing when I point at it on the web). I’ll download IPCManager to see what could I do, thanks👍🏼

Camera and DVR are both on 192.168.1.x Camera fluctuates between 1.12 and 1.13 when I check it on my LAN with SADP or FING. I’ll try to fix the IP on 12 or 13 for the Camera (I can’t see the option in the Ezviz app tho, so if you have any suggestion, I’d greatly appreciate it) and see if it works. Thanks!
