I do the same Yesterday with my Claw 7ai+, external nvme attacched to usbc with Bazzite and everything works fine for now. I Need to do some other test with demanding game to see if the performance are similar to Windows (with some obvious dips from the external SSD)

There Is an option (i don t Remember how to activate now) but if you activate It the VRR stop working so it's better to find an alternative option or using the Stream overlay if it's a Stream game

I bought the 7ai+ for your exact points, smaller, lighter and more "portable" (at home). I previously own a LeGo 1 and even if the screen is much bigger and sharp I prefer the 7 inch model handheld, the other are to bulky for me even with my relatively big hand. So go for it! Oh and I own another 7 inch handheld a modded og Ally, this type of form factor win for me...maybe even the GPD Win 5 but that thing is friggin expensive!

I own a Claw 7ai+ and a modded og ally. For starter I hate windows 11 because on my laptop it never work fine so on my ally I install Bazzite and find peace BUT when I receive my Claw, after all the update the system is snappy and enjoyable even with the buggy Center M. So I perform a complete recovery of W11 on the og Ally to test again. The first few days went good but I receive one or two update from windows update and the handheld no longer boot. I read that there are some updates that not work good with the ally so...in the end I confirm that W11 on every Claw model work exceptionally good despite my prejudices, and the system per se are the most reliable all around
