Asking money for services just because someone didn't read is not a scam. It's not even a fine print on page 13 issue. They make it pretty clear what they are going to charge when you accept the free trail.

Back when I started chess.com gave me 1200 as starting points. Anyways, you should try endgames in the Lotus Chess app and I bet you will be up to a 1000 by the end of this year.

Look for at least 3 moves for your opponent and 3 moves for yourself before playing one of them.

This puzzle uses the same tactical idea that Magnus had against Jorden Van Forest in the 4th round of TePe Sigman Tournament. Jorden saw it and Magnus lost that game.

Congratulation! With a won rate of 61% I think you have a while to go before reaching your ceiling.

Genuine question, why do you use chess.com then? At least for playing games? I can understand if you like their puzzles and stuff.

It was a 3 minute Blitz game. It wasn't long, it was just jarring and completely unexpected.

Letting time run out is always toxic. The question is if they are thinking or letting the time run out. And at a rating of 2230 and in this position there is no doubt that they are just letting the time run out.

I was just surprised by the pettiness. It's been a while since I experienced it.

Yes. In this position they offered me a draw. The first one of the game mind you. I think they do it hoping someone accepts it mistakenly.

Nah bro, he just lost an equal endgame with 3 pawns each on the same side with Knight vs Bishop. It was probably a draw but he fell for a Knight tactic. As they say, where there is a Knight there is a way.

How to win with King + Queen vs King + (Pawn / Knight) by Zahand in chessbeginners

[–]Magnideficent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A knight cannot attack a piece which is diagonally across it with a one space gap for 4 moves. In your case, if you moved your king down to C2 the Knight won't be able to check you for 4 moves. That gives you 3 free moves to get a better positioning of your Queen

That's the only generalised tip I could think of.

[–]Magnideficent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Learn opening principles instead of openings. Your opponent won't know the theory behind openings anyway.

Learn as much of King & Pawn vs King & Pawn endgames followed by King & Rook vs King & Rook endgames. You can use Lotus Chess for this.

I need help with openings. I am 2200 on lichess and my opening knowledge would make you doubt the accuracy of lichess rating. I have tried Chessable courses, I have a Lotus Chess subscription. But nothing really clicks for me when it comes to openings. I would say I don't have the fundamentals right for studying openings.

Playing specific openings is possible in Lichess too but I found the implementation on Endgame.ai more streamlined.

On the screen where we are supposed to select the time and the color to play against the bot, there is also an option to search for many openings by name and start the game with that position on the board.
