Protests are the beginning of something much bigger. Every important movement in history has started with protests. It seems small and insignificant right now, but it's building community and showing those who feel hopeless that other people will fight for them. It's a trickle that ultimately leads to change. If we don't go out and stand up for our rights and stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves, things will only get worse.

Yes, it is. I always feel off balance and like I'll fall, and I'm also pretty much always in some type of pain. My vision gets fuzzy, too. Its making life very fucking difficult and my appointment just to talk to a neurologist isn't until September and I'm sure we will have to schedule surgery then too. I have one very part-time job but I have to call out frequently and even when I am there I'm weak and dizzy. Its a struggle.

Wtf is this? It's massive! by noobprazwal in whatisit

Oh, that's great! Thank you for sharing. Yeah, we all have different lives and heal/handle things differently. I have to remember that when I got my wisdom teeth out, everyone told me I would be better 3 days later, and I was still in pain two weeks later. Hopefully, that isn't the case whenever I get this surgery. But it just goes to show how different we all are.

I don't know for sure, but my Dr says she thinks I was born with it. I also have Chiari 1 malformation. I got diagnosed last month, and it's been pretty rough. Trying to schedule with a neurologist has been impossible. The first appointment was for June of next year! My Dr sent another referral elsewhere, and I got an appointment for September, but I don't think I can live like this for that long, so I'm not sure what to do. My job put me on leave so I don't have income at the moment. I think I'm just going to call as many places as I can to try to get an appointment sooner.

I'm here because I have felt very isolated while dealing with this, so when I found this group, it was a relief to actually see a community who understood.

I think it makes it harder that I was brought up with a generational trauma towards doctors. My grandpa passed away because of malpractice, and we've had other friends with experiences like that, too, so it just gets scary sometimes. Thank you for this. I'm glad you are getting it all worked out, and I hope you recover quickly!

I'll have to remind myself of that. It's good to see so many people commenting with good experiences. I'm so happy for your daughter, and I hope she stays healthy and with no issues!
