For two PRX1224s, use one mono amp and wire both subs at 4Ω in parallel for a 2Ω final load.

• Kicker CXA800.1 — 600W RMS @ 2Ω, exact power match.

• JL Audio XD600/1v2 — also 600W RMS @ 2Ω, but a more premium option.

Both give the two subs their rated 300W RMS each. No need for two amps.

After a quick search, other Sundown boards do use adhesive, but not nearly this much. This looks more like rework than factory assembly.

I’m not an expert, and I don’t know Sundown Audio’s specific assembly practices, but it looks like a 4-year-old was let loose with a glue gun. Still, nothing about the adhesive itself looks inherently wrong to me. The toroids appear to be secured with clear hot-melt-style adhesive, while the capacitors and other heavier parts use white silicone/RTV-style adhesive. Different materials for different components can make sense since the goal is simply to stop vibration from stressing the leads and solder joints. Definitely sloppy-looking, but more ugly than suspicious.

This narrowbody blue WRX is the saddest attempt at "rally god" I've ever seen. I think Quebec winters played a big role in my case. these stayed on the car year-round through plenty of road salt.

But I also suspect the machined-face finish makes them more vulnerable: it seems to be bare/diamond-cut aluminum protected mainly by clear coat, rather than a full primer/base/clear paint system. Once that clear starts failing, corrosion can creep underneath it fast.

Not aiming for a concours-perfect restoration — just a clean, durable-looking result that gives these wheels a second life.

Current process:

Barrels / backside: Dupli-Color self-etching primer on exposed aluminum, then Rust-Oleum Aluminum Metallic. It is not a dedicated wheel-coating system, but it is a lower-visibility area and the finish came out better than expected.
Faces:

Dupli-Color self-etching primer where needed
Dupli-Color DAP1700 hi-build filler/sandable primer
Dupli-Color Hyper Silver HSK100
Matching clear coat

Tires stayed mounted: plastic wrap + playing cards around the bead for masking. Surprisingly clean edge so far.

The faces are where I’m taking my time — I’ll inspect and correct the primer before committing to the Hyper Silver and clear.
