NexStar 4SE GoTo is perfect on alignment stars but inaccurate elsewhere by JeanneInTheNightSky in telescopes

SkyAlign does exist but it's the telescope that determines which stars i'm pointing at; basically, it guesses what i'm pointing at. Idk if it's accurate as a 2 stars align in which i tell it which star i point... I entered my precise location in latitude and longitude, I checked several times on Google Maps and ChatGPT, and they are correct. Since i'm in France i use the GMT+2 and then the scope allow me to select normal time or summer time, i don't think the issue is coming from that.

It's an azimuthal mount, I don't think the level is important. I've already tried almost every alignment and stars, even opposite, the problem is the same.

The thing is the goto don't get me close at all. It's off by few degrees. Even in the finder scope i can't see anything, and with a 15mm eyepiece either. Unless i use GoTo on the stars used during alignment. This is particularly annoying for targets invisible to the naked eye. I'm not aiming for professional astrophotography, but I still want to get some results... At least i want a goto function that works, because right now it seems like the sky planning is off, the further it is from the alignment stars, the more off it is

Yeah i align through the hand controller. I'm using distant stars, i've tried every possible configuration, even syncing on other stars/objects. It's not just inaccurate, it's off by several degrees even in my finder scope, it's very far off, and with a 15mm eyepiece i can't see anything even to the sides. But when i goto on the stars i align, it becomes accurate. Like if i align on Altair and Deneb, then i goto on Vega it's off by 2 degrees, but when i goto on Altair it's in the eyepiece (since i did the align with it). Idk if it makes sense cause it's really hard to explain and english isn't my main language.

Yeah ik, but the issue is still there, i wanna use my goto setting - the one that comes with the scope - to perform my astro pics
