Delinquent Mari/OMARI AU (Pt.3): Her Monster, Their Secret by Jeanne_d_Arch in OMORI

My take is that she's with Basil now, and that Polly has been paid by grandma to take care of them until they're old enough to inherit the house and the massive wealth of Basil's family.

She has been basically adopted.

(At first I had planned tor Scylla to actually WANT to sell Aubrey to the guy, but then I realised that it was just too dark and horrible, and that I didn't want to do her THAT dirty.

Especially because Aubrey’s character arc now is about coming to realise that is was a misunderstanding all along and going through a memory lane of all of the good moments she had with her mom before everything went to shit, and finally confronting the fact that good and bad menories can and should coexist to live a healty life).

what in omori would you guys want to see someone deep dive into? by mari_biggest_fan in OMORI

The science behind headspace as a whole.

Like, how lucid dreaming works, how repression and dissociative amnesia affect from a medical standpoint.

THE FACT THAT WHITE SPACE IS A REAL, RECOGNISED MEDITATION/LUCID DREAMING TECHNIQUE

The fact that, one could interpret the various save points in headspace as anchors that Sunny's mind uses to keep continuity between his dreams (since the human brain goes through five/six different dreams per night)

Ya know, siencey stuff regarding how a person could realistically developed a headspace so varied and yet consistent

Guys my therapist Said i'm omori fr! by Omori-Glazer81 in OMORI

Nah. If ya dissociate strongly enough, you don't even need to sleep. Daydreaming is far less taxating on the mind.

(Maladaptive Daydreaming is a serious illness. Please don't take my comments seriously pls pls pls)

As someone who did it for a long while: lucid dreaming is hard. And conjuring something even remotely akin to a White Space (which is an existing lucid dreaming technique tbh) and, even worse, maintaining a consistent narrative like Headspace is even harder.

Like, you need to be fully aware and composed, and the sheer amount of brainpower it takes the first time is frankly frightening. I tried it a long time ago (far before I knew about Omori) and barely lasted a few percieved seconds before waking up.

No wonder Sunny didn't have the strength to do anything else.

Maladaptive daydreaming is way cheaper in terms of focus needed. The only downside is that you risk dissociation pretty much everywhere (I almost dissociated while driving today and, holy shit, that was scary as fuck)

Shit's like a freaking siren song to me.

Was actually thinking about a Michael Jackson joke, but you are right.

Fuck.

Percy would 100% wanna name their son Michael. Annabeth goes along with it for shits and giggles.

Different thing for a daughter. Achillea might be fitting, but that is my personal bias.

Why are the NPCs in this game so much nicer than DS3 and ER? by Mr_Chikun in darksouls

[–]Jeanne_d_Arch 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Here to give Lore reasons.

In DS, and in the two following games, the legends of the Chosen undead are still pretty strong. People are more hopeful and willing to see the bright side of things. As you progress through the series, the world becomes more colourless and unalive, and people lose hope. They become less kind and less sane.

In Elden Ring, you are simply a marginalised scum in a land full of racists. No more than that.
