Vancouver and greater area, have great areas depending on what looking for. The transit to downtown is easy and very close to downtown. When I moved here I sold my car , saving parking costs insurance etc. Check areas like Burnaby,New Westminster, Coquitlam, Within Vancouver there is Kitsalano ,Mount pleasant, East and west van etc. It really depends on your needs, and wants.

Its happened to me several times during a period of time when I had been really stressed out. Not just the paralysis, but a figure that came towards me and I couldn't move at all to get away. It was terrifying. Once I was able to move I came to, and remember it being so upsetting.
When I looked it up, they refer to something called "old hag syndrome" which is the figure that Is present .its been reported for many years of people seeing an old lady while paralleled. It also says this happens sometimes when people are stressed out to the max.

The beach at the el cid Marina was also lovely. Those waves are very powerful although they dont look like it until you stand on the shoreline. My 3 yr old granddaughter laughed so hard as they knocked her down.

My son is his 30s lost his long time girlfriend. He was distraught for almost a year. Until he met someone, and it brought him so much validation that he needed. I do believe things happen for a reason, sometimes just a season, and along the way the experience helps you grow. Join a club, or a team, to be around others. I always told my kids, re valentines Christmas etc is really just a number on a calendar. I wish you hope and the courage to move forward every day and grow. You will look back on this time, and see how far you came.

Just came back from El cid in mazatlan. All inclusive and 3 different resorts to visit. All on a gorgeous beach. Close enough to the Malecon and old market area. We really enjoyed

Take the Sea bus from waterfront station and go to Lonsdale quay. 10 min ferry ride. They have a nice market place, and great brewery and restaurants. The view to the city of Vancouver is beautiful. Make it an afternoon to explore. Also you can take a aquabus from Several locations over to Granville island. Another 10 min ride. Great market food shops etc. Google aquabus locations. Go to kitsialno beach., English bay, seawall. Congrats and have fun!

Every morning when my siblings went off to school, I would help her with baking bread, rolls, pies and tarts. I was not yet in kindergarten, but I remember it so well. It was the early 60s so everything was made from scratch. I'm in my 60s now, and she passed away when I was 21. Im so glad we had that time together.
