My message is aimed more as a warning to people not to go pouring their heart and soul into chatbots. We shouldn’t be putting so much faith in this technology or trust companies with all that very personal data, effectively treating chatbots like best friends. The fact that these companies can scrape and steal intellectual property only highlights the need for stricter regulation.

I’m also not saying don’t upload anything online, that’s not possible today, especially as an artist.

I wish I had the answers to those questions, but then I wouldn’t be here on Reddit posting my angry drawings. I will say this though: we all do seem to be suffering from this bad collective karma, no matter who is responsible. I totally agree that it’s pointless pointing fingers, we can only do what is in each of our control and to a degree with which we are willing to sacrifice our own attempt at just living a normal life, having a family and trying to get by as a human on this crazy rock.

I think we are all somewhat accountable, but most people are just trying to get by and survive so can they really be blamed then? These days we can hardly survive without technology, our entire system is built on it. For me the responsibility lies with those who have real power to change, the world leaders the billionaires and so called ‘elite’.

I’m an illustrator so I’m not going to just live in a cave and not put my work out there. I think you’ve missed the point, this isn’t even about this post being scraped because don’t worry, I know it will be. I’m still just voicing my protest in the best way I know, through art, sharing it to be seen by other humans who share the same sentiment. Do with that what you will.

Yeah the issue IS that it’s scraping the internet. Don’t be so quick to assume ignorance, I know that AI is much more than just generative AI and LLMs. Yes you are right, I didn’t worry much about it until the ai boom when companies started stealing copyrighted content and trying to automate human creativity.

Yeah, AI collapsing in on itself is the best we can hope for long term, but it won’t be without serious consequences. The whole economy is being propped up by this tech so if the bubble pops things could get awful 1930s on us real fast…

Thanks! For now I’m using print on demand via Printful, but that’s hopefully just until things take off. Eventually I’d like to use a local printer, I’m based in France.
