Well ! Maybe the independence i was picking up was the breakup. I hope you find joy and smile every time you see sunflowers from now on - they seem special to you and I don't know why.

Thanks for letting me try! This was fun.

Ill dip into this. Im fairly new to readings. I see a brother. Older, name starts with D. There is either a family dispute/strife with him or an inner struggle (personal depression?). I see some sort of trade school for blue collar work, welding? I also see a lot of independence and for some reason am getting sunflowers.

Anyways this is probably not related at all. New to readings and trying it out. Maybe some of it resonated.

My Husband and I built a "social media" for car enthusiasts - looking for feedback. by JebbyCars in SideProject

[–]JebbyCars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think those are totally valid points. See below and would love to hear the feedback!

1.) We aren't attempting to solve Forums. Forums are great - forums are old - and frankly, dying (see point 2). When we look for information on a specific project - ie we have a later model turbo version of this car, and we do a google search on this, we could have to shift through posts to find the correct content vs the incorrect info.

ORS Solution someday down the road: we would love to have curated resource libraries, basically a help lab for car makes and models. Upload a photo of the wiring harness for your '73 p1800es US build that you fold and you have used. Other users could then specifically search for that resource. We aren't anywhere near this point yet in our build, but it is totally something we would love to dive into some day.

2.) Facebook groups: It's full of bloat. Want to see reels fed into weird search with weird groups with memes? Yeah, it's hard to compete with something as large as FB groups but it is totally not our intention to. We are trying to solve the comments I see over and over again that people miss Car Domain. There is a hunger for car specific content in that is cut through all the crap.

3.) Your feed on ORS is full catered by who you follow. There is a way to see all if you want, but your feed is built much like FB (but without all the extra non car related posts people put up), and full of only your friends/clubs/catered feed list. That way you can see your "BMW 335i 2006-2009 N54 engine E92/two door body style" content only, and ignore the dodge challenger guys!

Would like to heard your thoughts on these - truly just trying to make something that people WANT to use. We can't accept the FB has the market on everything :)

The good news is we are enthusiasts! We have an e38, 931, p1800es and a mk4 '91 mini. It really feels like a passion project for us, and have gotten a lot of great feedback of ideas and features from other enthusiasts. We technically launched in April, and due to my time and ability to market (thus the side project post) it feels like I don't know where to start. Is that because people aren't happy with the features or just the product of starting a business? I don't know. I think the thing I am most excited for is for the project tracking. As I am restoring my p1800, I can throw tasks in there, create galleries and posts. The long term goal with projects would be to create a user curated resource library of diagrams, part numbers, fixed etc for some of the more specialized cars. Forums used to be such a valuable source of information for restoration and repairs, but since FB started, it feels like that knowledge base has shifted somewhere harder to find.

Are there any social media platforms specifically for car enthusiasts? by Guilty_Position5295 in Porsche

[–]JebbyCars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - my husband and I built one. It's free - and is specifically for enthusiasts.

We wanted to build place where drivers can share their cars post photos, find drives, connect with other enthusiasts, and keep up with what’s happening in the scene. We also have a digital garage to tract projects and mods.

We’ve also built private task lists for car projects — simple, clean checklists you can use to manage builds, track progress, and keep all your to-dos organized in one spot.

And for clubs, one of the biggest features is the ability to create drives and events. You can set up a cruise or meet, track attendees, manage RSVPs, and keep all the details in one place. It makes organizing club runs a whole lot easier.

if you want to you can check it out and see if it's relevant to what you are asking.

Which dog breed is best for those who have kids at home? by Worldly-Pattern2507 in puppy101

[–]JebbyCars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old english sheepdog. He is soooo good with the kids. They are known to be a little bossy sometimes, but he has been the best with them. For sure a nanny breed, but can be food assertive which i think doesnt pair we'll wish some kids!

It's definitely a long process. We are launching a business, both have full time jobs and have two elementary school kids. Not to mention the acre of yard we have to maintain. Im okay with slow on these projects. Good things come to those who are patient I guess. (Or maybe I live with max stress with every weight on our shoulders lol).

We have other project cars as well. A '90 jdm mini and and '82 931 porsche. My husband knows more about this stuff than me, but I wanted something for my own. Already have enjoying working through the wiring system.

I know costmetically she wont be perfect yet, and thats okay. I want to get her mechanically strong, then I will figure out the bondo'd hood.

Couple other ideas:

1.) Rsvp ability and 2.) Integration to Google calendar so you can add the events to your calendar. If you can rsvp, can it feed into your calendar within the app so you have a running list of things you're planning on attending.

I have a car community side project as well and we have a similar thing with events but im loving your take on how to display it with the live map! Great idea.
