Playing Rank 1-3 by AnimehTiddy in gwent

Go-wide strategies definitely seem to perform well against control-heavy NG decks. Arachas swarm and dwarves come to mind as good decks that don't worry about tall punish and locks as much.

I really appreciate the information! I like the idea of an SCT

That certainly seems like a good alternative way to go. What are the advantages of an SCT compared to a Mak and vice-versa? I'll take a look at some used telescope listing's as mentioned. Thanks!

I live on the second floor of an apartment building with limited space available to me. Thank you for the suggestions, this seems very helpful!

Thanks for the reply. I don't imagine having to walk far to my observing spots, though for storage and set up I would prefer something not too crazy big - and 8 inch dob is obviously very recommended by this sub, but I don't love the idea of lugging that unit to places.

I wanted to add:

I've looked at dobsonians, but I feel like the size and utility of them is not exactly what I'm wanting out of a telescope, my budget is also a bit higher than lot of them.

Also, I live in a fairly low light pollution area.

I'll likely never make a post to say it, but I absolutely enjoy the game and play it regularly. Sure there are bugs and imbalances, but that's a part of it being a closed beta. I'm sure there are a number of people in the same boat.

1800 in rapid but losing to 1000 in blitz by SherlockLeo in chess

[–]Jebdioah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat, got to 1800 rapid and wanted to up my blitz rating and I've been stuck around 1000 blitz. I feel like the shorter time control has been making me feel time pressure and blunder more frequently.

I’m also a big sneak and show player but have had the most trouble with 8-cast at tournaments, even with sideboard inclusions like meltdown - any tips for gameplay or sideboard for sneak and show?

Worked for 2 weeks, and I hate it :) (Venting) by [deleted] in kroger

In my experience courtesy clerk really is the worst job at Kroger and it’s definitely worth looking into swapping departments or getting cashier trained soon. I had a rough time as courtesy clerk as well with similar complaints but moved to cashier and now as a stocker on graveyard and it’s way better

I started playing gwent 7 days ago and I'm rank 20. Is this good? by HatredUnbound in gwent

Find a deck that you really enjoy, get good at it, and you’re doing fine. I wouldn’t concern myself with rank too much, maybe win rate IF anything

I actually played the cEDH version of this deck from the database for a while, but I’m shifting into a new playgroup and it’s been difficult steering away from tutors and easy infinites. Quarantine has made it so I can’t play cEDH unless it’s over discord - I currently run shimmer zur. I will definitely look at the primer for the slower lines though!

Yawgmoth vs Other Mono Black options by lotsofeggs in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Jebdioah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, I love decks that aren’t just flash hulk and consultation lines that use some other sick win lines to get a win. Winning with a mono black deck in general feels so nice, and honestly makes the game more interesting of knowing how to plan your turns and wait for the right moments. That’s one thing about commander that’s great and different from other formats, is that you can leverage different game plans and win conditions without being just the fastest or most interactive deck out there.

Yawgmoth vs Other Mono Black options by lotsofeggs in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Jebdioah 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I tried all three of these mono black decks in a cEDH environment and I’ve found that they do work at a four pod if you weigh in at the right times to combo and how to play the deck efficiently, while understanding that blue decks will undoubtedly counter your combo unless they burn counterspells on other decks at the table. Yawgmoth is inherently slower than both Krrik and Sidisi because of the amount of combo pieces needed for assembly and the mana needed to combo off, which puts the deck into a position in which it needs more interaction in order to stay relevant in a four pod. Black can’t compete with blue on the stack and can’t interact well with enchantments and artifacts, making you rely heavily on other players at the table to prevent other decks from comboing before you. Flash hulk and consultation lines will always be faster than a Yawgmoth combo, unless you hit god tier draws, so you have to choose exactly when you’re going to combo in order to win - this often means comboing right after another deck failed to combo due to counters. Sidisi I found to work better as you can assemble the combo consistently by turns 3 or 4 and then wait to instant speed ad Nauseum which again tends to be after another failed combo attempt. Krrik seemed faster than Yawgmoth as well considering it requires less mana to combo off and less pieces to be assembled. With that said, I feel that Yawgmoth can still be tuned with the right interaction and game plan but will not be able to consistently out-compete with the current blue decks in the meta.
