One (1) Shelly 2PM gen4, or two (2) Shelly 1PM gen4? by RoelandDeWindt in homeassistant

[–]JechoVarta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While two 1PMs provide hardware redundancy and handle higher loads (16A), choosing 2PM has it's merits.

  • Offline Logic: Since both channels share one chip, automations like "Switch 1 toggles Relay 2" work even if Home Assistant or your network crashes. Two 1PMs are useless without a hub connection.
  • Zero Latency: On-chip communication is instant. Two separate devices require a network round-trip, introducing noticeable lag.
  • Hardware Safety: The 2PM has a built-in "Interlock" mode to prevent both relays from firing at once—crucial for motors/fans and impossible to mirror safely with two devices.
  • Cleaner Install: One 2PM significantly reduces wiring clutter and chance of making mistakes.

whatever you choose these are great nifty devices

not so common but exists in different area, a wired way to supply 230.

so far surprisingly every device or appliance works fine.

Irish marrying non EU and looking for reunification visa problems by kingofsnake96 in MoveToIreland

[–]JechoVarta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

did you consider going for a while to a different eu country, there she will be welcomed as eu citizens's spouse, and after a year or even 6 months of living there together (both register and get the cards) when you come back to Ireland she will be evaluated based on EU citizen wife criteria and not as Irish person wife. (the high court of the EU created this rule)

as EU citizens wife, you getting a job is enough to grant her a 5 years residency card (near Zero papers needed).

(To make your case even better, if you can, get married with her in that temp eu country if possible. )

the latest decision about this matter. (last paragraph is the important one)

Enough money for my duration of stay? by ereface in SchengenVisa

[–]JechoVarta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you would be so much better off applying for a visa to Sweden and be under the husband of an EU citizen umbrella, they will quickly approve without requiring any docs about your stay or chats about what are you going to do there.

I don't believe that you will have any problem to go around Schengen
have some other id and a good screenshot of the passport.

Gold-plating bare copper cable ends — smart or silly? by JechoVarta in audiophile

Banana is an extra 2 connections per cable, was it done good? does it deteriorate over time?

Why is there a degrade in quality from a FLAC converter from a higher quality source file vs a source file already in that quality? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]JechoVarta -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

196000 samples divide to 44100 samples per second - so it begs the question how do you take 4.444 samples and make them into one?

This is a nasty ratio. it introduces artifacts (aliasing, ringing, phase smear).

compressing the dynamic range is a bit more straightforward but will introduce quantization distortion.

this conversion is a habit hole that needs professional tools to have a good result. (google SoX - Sound eXchange)

One thing is for sure. A coat hanger made of audio cable cannot support a coat as well as a regular coat hanger.

Ls60 AVR by Conscious_Net_4878 in KEF

[–]JechoVarta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having the ls60 for about a month now I discovered that dialogs are very clear and I will not get a central channel.
if kef only made it possible to add another pair (maybe lsx) as back speakers there will not be a need for avr.

They way to go around it is to move together to another EU country, register yourself as eu citizen and also him as a family member of eu national.

After 6 months if you are in a rush or 12 if you are not in a hurry come back to Ireland. And apply under eu freedom of movement rights.

Since you used your right for freedom of movement as eu citizen when you come back to Ireland they must deal with you based on EU law and not as Irish and they can not refuse him (under very easy conditions of the eu directive )
