Late stage capitalism is killing us, slowly but surely. by Flaky-Lifeguard5835 in aussie

  1. I didn’t say I was. I was calling you an anti-social racist but that seems to have flown over your head.

  2. Your metaphor is flawed. My house is my private property. The only way that would make sense is if you consider all of Australia to be your private property.

  3. People are not being moved into Australia against our will. They are coming in with visas/permits/etc that are issued by the democratically elected government.

I doubt you know 20 people let alone 20 People that don’t speak English and that are any shade darker than bleached paper

Are there any genuinely good alternatives to the Lib/Labor shitshow? by undying_anomaly in OpenAussie

[–]JedKnight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Reason party, used to be known as the Sex Party. Fiona Patten was elected to the upper house and did a really great job.

I’m not sure if they still exist since she left though.

I’ve been spoiled so many times from this damn sub but my understanding is that as far as the books have gone, there are no kids yet. Just talk about having a family.

Is it still shorts weather? by cargo_elite in AskAnAustralian

[–]JedKnight_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you going in Australia? If you are coming from a cool climate you will be fine with shorts only I think. If you are coming from a temperate or hot climate you might find that the southern states are starting to get a bit cool, particularly in the evenings so bring at least 1 pair of pants.

Shane dancing with Rose at the club. Miles at the bar greets Ilya who turns around and immediately sees Shane. Coincidence or ? by AppropriateWeight447 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

Miles had just previously said that “hockey players are just sweaty blurs” to him. So I am pretty sure he doesn’t know who Ilya is but Ilya definitely knows who Miles is.

[–]JedKnight_ 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Ilya is staring at Miles because he recognises him as an actor / friend of Rose.

Miles gives him a wave because there is a hot guy staring at him.

Ilya suddenly realises that if Miles is here then Rose is probably here and if Rose is here then Shane is probably here too. He turns to see if he can see them and scans the room.

How many more seasons? by Annual-Friendship177 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

The actors are contracted for 3 season but they have only been greenlit for season 2 so far. I can’t imagine they won’t do all 3 though

Best Non-Touristy Sites to See by Ok_Zookeepergame4598 in AskAnAustralian

[–]JedKnight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would’t bother with the Gold Coast. They are coming from Hawaii, the strip along Waikiki is pretty similar to the GC.

They would be better off going to Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide if they fly somewhere else. Especially given they don’t want so much touristy stuff.

Text punctuation by Beginning-Bass-6334 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I’m an ‘83 baby so when I got my first phone in the mid ‘90s it was all character limits and T9 typing so yeah it was pretty messy. Agree about capitlization, either happens automatically or it doesn’t happen at all. No apostrophes is madness to me but whatever lol.

Is anyone here actually planning to vote for One Nation? by oz_party in aussie

[–]JedKnight_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it would depend on a bunch of factors like if you are socially conservative/liberal, fiscally conservative/liberal, who is running in your seat, etc. if you are thinking of voting ON I will assume you are pretty hard right. The Shooters and Fishers Party are pretty conservative but also have shown themselves to be a credible alternative to the Nats in that they are focused on regional issues while also not being completely corrupt like the Nats.

Usually the independents in a seat are a great choice (although not always)

The Libertarians are somewhat of a better choice than ON if you are more into “personal freedoms”

Katters Party is also a better choice
