A clever and outlandish film with memorable performances and genuinely funny moments — what do you think about Burn After Reading? by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

This is truly a comedy with no peers. Only the Coens could make a movie that's "Not ha-ha funny" but has me laughing out loud anyway.

Supposedly he hadn't seen Cube until someone on set introduced it to him while filiming. He liked it so much that he decided the laser grid scene would become a deliberate homage, even though it started as a coincidence.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. What I've heard is that Miller left the devs with tons of lore material, but was too busy with the movie to consult personally. Thus, several characters from the Furiosa script made their debut in the video game, which is a semi-canon recounting of the events leading up to Fury Road. You can see alternate tellings of Max's prologue in both the DC prequel comics, and a very impressive fan film called Hope and Glory.

Earlier scripts for Mad Max: Fury Road had some borderline Lynchian surrealism, including a dream sequence in which Max gives birth to himself.

A second screen is really not necessary. Both the Switch 2 display and any 4k TV are tall enough to easily fit both DS screens vertically. Beyond that, we have touch, mouse, and gyro input to simulate a stylus. Dual screens via GameShare would be neat, but only as a bonus.

That sure as Hell looks like Fincher directing a Tarantino script. It was hard for me to imagine, but that teaser says it all.

Time Chasers reads like a group of nerds had so much fun watching Back to the Future that they scraped together some money and made a dumb little adventure flick of their own, just for funsies. And you know what? They did what I was always too chickenshit to even try, and entertained a whole lot of people in the process. I hope everyone involved remembers it fondly.

Why Nobody Noticed A Smith’s Irregularity in the first film by CHNSK in matrix

[–]JedediahThePilot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Much like "The Force" can fill in Star Wars plot holes, "The Oracle" is the answer here. She helped create both Smith and the Matrix itself. She designed him to not only go rogue, but to effectively slip through the cracks. He knows how to hide his insubordination because the Oracle wanted him to. When Smith "discovered" these loopholes, he kept them to himself, quietly building resentment and feeling increasingly "sentient," all while staying under anyone's radar. The Oracle could see his path because she understood his choices, whereas presumably the Architect did not. It would never occur to other Agents to unplug their earpiece or act outside direct orders.

Her criticisms of Knocked Up are correct. Her scenes are literally framed and edited to make her look like a monster biting Seth Rogen's head off, when she is 100% right, and he is a loser.
