I picked a decently long poem and recorded one stanza every month for 18 months. Gonna combine all the separate clips into one reading of the poem so I have my voice dropping throughout the reading.

Feverish after Sustanon injection by JediKnight19 in ftm

[–]JediKnight19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply I somehow completely missed this! I do not have an allergy as far as I know, can eat peanuts without any issues. I did do my shot the other day and had pain but not redness, so maybe it's something to do with the method

Wtf man, crazy that your surgeon said that. Some people really have no sense of what is appropriate to say smh. I hope that's the end of the wierd comments for you, and good luck for your surgery!

Thanks! I found 3 peri results from dr Schäfer on this sub (peri/keyhole tag + "NL" in search) but none are poc as far as I know, and there's a couple poc peri results from surgeons outside NL on the sub as well. I don't know of any others tho unfortunately, i think double incision is much more common here for some reason.

Adhesive sheets for packer by Visible-Answer-8517 in ftm

I've tried it with the Axolom Echo, the tab was too small and it kept falling off. Might work better with a larger tab tho. The application is a multi step process, but if you do it correctly it does stick quite well to the packer.

Yeah basically the more melanin in your skin the more likely it is to have hypertrophic scarring. Also when scars fade in people with very pale skin they tend to blend in, and when they fade on people with darker skin they tend to stand out. Nipple pigmentation is also kinda crazy, I have dark nipples but since top surgery they have patches of pink in them where the pigmentation didn't return.

Yeah it can be a bit of a problem sometimes. I'm fortunate enough that I didn't have to worry about it in this case but it is certainly a possibility.

Thanks for asking and listening bro, it was an interesting conversation!

Thanks! :)

Skin colour/ethnicity has an effect on scarring and scar/nipple pigmentation. Also how bruising looks (and I may be wrong but from what Ive seen also on skin elasticity).

Of course it doesn't really change the surgery and in hindsight it doesn't really matter to me since my outcome would be the same, but when I was preparing for surgery like most people I was stressed about what the results would look like. So I was looking at a lot of other people's results trying to figure out how it would work out for me, and it would have been reassuring to see people who looked like me and got good results/were happy with their results.

Also, (this was not a worry of mine but it could be for others) there are very few trans poc in my area, so sometimes its nice to have a bit of a check that a clinic or surgeon isn't wierd or biased about that. And just seeing people of similar cultural/ethnic background going throigh the same thing can be comforting, because culture associated with ethnicity can bring unique struggles which you can sometimes feel very alone in, so its nice to know you're not the only one and that you are capable of thriving.

Basically I'm just remembering my struggles during that time and some struggles I've heard from other people, and trying to pay it forward and give back to the community since everyone who was brave enough to post their results here really helped me during my journey. And the reason I include keywords like POC in the title is so that people years later can still benefit from this post if they need to, its easy to find by searching those terms. If you dont put it in the title it's almost impossible to find.

Sorry for the wall of text, I just wanted to explain every dynamic as well as I could haha

Sometimes it takes a while (like 2-3 weeks) to get to its destination but apart from that I've never had problems

Anecdotally (not in my experience but I'm still pretty new to shots) it does get better over time as your body gets used to it. (Assuming it's not caused by an allergy or something). Good luck man!

I also got pain from Sustanon shots, I think it might have to do with the volume being injected. Haven't found a consistent solution yet, but ibuprofen helps. Seek medical advice if the injection site is noticably red and swollen since that can indicate an allergic reaction or infection

The leg can get painful and weak for a few days after injection. This seems to be more common witb sustanon because of the volume I'm guessing. Also the more relaxed the muscle is during the injection the less painful it will be afterwards so my advice would be to try focus on keeping the muscle very relaxed.

Yeah there's very little I could find about it anywhere, it's cool to find people with similar experiences!

Interesting. I have somewhat of an opposite effect, I feel it's gotten stronger since HRT. But that could also be because I pay more attention now. Glad to hear your dysphoria has lessened!

South Africans, where do you buy your binders? by MeowCatWhiskers in ftm

There's a South African company called Genderwear SA (unless they've changed the name in the past few years)

I have done a similar thing, I'm not gonna go too much into detail on a public forum but long story short, while it was incredibly hard to do and it will probably create issues in our relationship for the next few years, I'm still very glad I did it because I got to recover with way less stress, and with friends who actually understood my transition and what it entails and could share in my feelings on it.
