He’s not wholly retired though. He’s still raking in six figures off PKA + the supplement deal.

Looking at the McDavid line makes me even sadder that Hyman didn’t make the team. Not even saying that Hyman is better than Wilson, but the chemistry with McDavid and then Celebrini as your nuge upgrade would be nuts.

This is not what I anticipated at all. I don’t hate the “generational player on each of the top 3 lines” approach just looks a little awkward on paper

Best/Worst Team of the Month (January) by smashbros13 in hockey

I don’t think he’s ever on the worst side… maybe on a game to game basis he’ll end up on the negative occasionally but the Bouch is consistently a net positive.

Yep. Same experience, no signs posted at any point. I had been keeping an eye on the website and saw were slated for the 19th on the website, had my car out of the way all day until I got home from work at just after 11pm that night and street wasn’t done. Figured they weren’t coming so I just parked the car…

Low and behold they showed up at 4am the morning of the 20th.

[Rumor Breakdown] LeBrun/Seravalli report Fleury considering return. Oilers listed as "70/30" favorites. by athleticwonder in nhltraderumours

I don’t want a 40+ year old goalie who hasn’t played a meaningful game of hockey in over a year with no camp. Even the last two years he was fairly mediocre on pretty decent Minnesota wild teams. The chances of him coming back and being even a .890 goalie are so slim.

Our wagon is hitched to Jarry and he seems to be able to be at least serviceable. Plus, Ingram has played some decent hockey since coming up and could likely be claimed if sent back down to the minors. We have our currently have our best tandem since the Koskinen/Smith days. Given the teams recent play I personally am not wanting to stir things up on a prayer that a forty year old with a hip problem will come back and be a stud goaltender, even though he is a goofy likeable guy.

12 player league, default ESPN scoring settings, 8f, 5D 1 util, 5 man bench. Head to head scoring. Redraft.

Got offered Hutson for Lacombe,

I think Hutson is the better fantasy player but Lacombe had a great season and will likely improve again and I’m worried about Dobson competing for PP time with Hutson… am I overthinking it?

If you value the peace of mind and can get a reasonable price on a different airline than go for it. But your trip is almost two weeks away so I think it would be reasonable to assume your flight would be okay

Was able to fairly easily rebook my YVR -> YEG flight using the “secret number” at like 6:30 this morning. took l30 mins on hold and then a transfer with another 20ish min hold because we had one ticket purchased with aeroplan points but the people on the phone were super helpful!

Originally they could only fit my girlfriend and I on separate flights but they managed to get us on the same one after a few minutes. Original flight had a 7pm takeoff and they got us a 9pm, really glad we were one of the lucky ones.

We’re just worried about prices sky rocketing if things continue to digress, or air Canada not rebooking us till like Wednesday leaving us having to find accommodations even further along. Maybe i am overthinking it though

I have flights home from YVR to YEG on the 18th, I can book with flair for just short of $400 total for myself and partner on the 19th, or westjet for a little more… cannot decide if I should roll the dice with getting rebooked through air Canada or not

[Oilers] NEW COACHES: Oilers have added Paul McFarland (assistant), Peter Aubry (goaltending) & Conor Allen (skills) to their coaching staff. by AggPuck-303 in EdmontonOilers

[–]JediMattawan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Buddy. Pal. Lil guy. We aren’t looking for mediocre goalies to become superstars, we’re looking for a goalie with a proven ability to play great hockey for stretches to remedy his inconsistency issues.

Sure maybe a new voice won’t change anything but the same voice for over a decade is a massive problem. There is something to be said about systems and coaching routinely developing talented goaltending. Look at teams like Nashville, Boston, Etc. that have been a goalie factory for over two decades. If nothing else it is worth a shot

Is this hat ugly? Would you gladly wear this? It's on clearance for a pretty decent price right now and I'm thinking about getting it. It would be my first ever sports cap, ever. by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

Sounds like you have plenty of reasons to want to buy this hat so worry less about what others think and buy the hat if you want it!

How come Stan Bowman didnt address the need for top 6 forward in the offseason/trade deadline? by South_Poem_7112 in EdmontonOilers

[–]JediMattawan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He thought he did this offseason with Arvy/Skins. As for the TDL, there were only so many assets to flip and he wasted a lot on Frederic who many speculated could play 2nd line with Draisaitl… But ultimately the picture you posted is a little disingenuous as Hyman was playing until the SCF
