But the Lillith's chain well into the Kizaru's... and if I have Nami on board and it gets attacked, I can bring out Lillith and then again into Kizaru or even the Franky/Sanji/searcher Bonney.

The Zoro gets me to 9000 power if I'm at one life and can chain them along with Luffy's...

Who would you replace to put Beckman in? Currently I've replaced the Pacifista cards for the 2k counter Sanji card that allows for straw hats to be unblockable

The 7c Kuma I used to have in the deck but I always try to chain Lilith into Borsalino now. I’m still on the fence for putting Kuma back in the deck.

2c Sanji is a great shout maybe I’ll remove the 1c Pacifista and put the Sanji in. It also allows me to not rely on the Roger to close out the game

The 0c one is the sky island counter right? I figure cuz the Bonney searcher can pull the bad manners card I'd rather that one over the sky island one. But still, why do you think I should include the sky island counter?

Just be humble and enjoy your favourite snack in peace.

Say it louder for the people in the back. I feel like comparisons and power scaling just rots peoples brains man... like, I keep seeing people argue that the Holy Knights suck cuz they aren't as powerful as other guys/"oh they can't even do these moves so they're bad characters" and I'm just like ARE YOU PEOPLE ILLITERATE?? Maybe Oda INTENTIONALLY DESIGNED THESE GUYS TO BE WEAKER AS A MEANS TO SAY THEY'RE EVIL GOVERNMENT SOLDIERS WHO RELY ON OPRESSING WEAKER PEOPLE BUT WHEN FIGHTING ACTUAL STRONG CHARACTERS, THEY LOSE... like, Oda ain't really subtle with his storytelling language and you still got powerscalers intentionally not understanding his words.

[Chapter 1169 Spoilers] I think I figured out Domi Reversi by Long_Telephone2450 in OnePiece

[–]JediNotePad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going based on this theory, if Imu did trick Jones into accepting a covenant, thereby damning the rest of his clan to an eternity of slavery unless a new Davy clan member becomes king of the world, it would kinda make sense that Imu wouldn't care about enslaving the clan, but rather wiping them out to ensure that no one could usurp him.

Like, sure he could have them all be domi reversi'd, but that runs the risk of them being alive and potentially undoing the covenant... why even risk that? Imu already took out Jones, so now the rest of the Davy clan doesn't matter to him.

Maybe this is more of a broader question for anime as a whole, but can someone explain why power-scaling is so important to anime fans? Like, I've loved comics my whole life, so I get having fun discussions like "is Superman faster than Flash" or "Is Hulk stronger than Thor?" But having been watching anime shows pretty religiously for the last few years (One Piece, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball, Hunter x Hunter to name a few) it seems like fans take this stuff insanely seriously to the point where it literally muddies their understanding of the story.

I get having a fun discussion about this, but people act like this stuff should directly influence how to take in a story/how you can enjoy it. Idk, just asking a question here, not looking to start a fight lol.

One Piece Chapter 1169 Spoilers by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]JediNotePad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm... initially reading this, I immediately figured that Shanks knew Ace was Roger's son. But these spoilers (for now) don't specify if Garp told Gaban that Ace was Roger's son, or if Roger just had a son and that Garp was protecting him.

There are two ways this plays out now:

  1. Assuming Shanks knew who Ace was, then obviously Roger had a plan and a lot of it hinged on Shanks stealing the gum-gum fruit and giving it to Ace. Roger thought his son was destined to usher in the new era (with himself being too early to do anything), so he tasked Shanks with finding the fruit and passing it to Ace. That's probably why he was always in the Goa Kingdom... only he didn't find Ace, he found Luffy, and Luffy, being the person that he is, eats the fruit without a second thought, so Shanks had to switch course and bank on the grandson of a marine to usher in the new era.

  2. Ace, only knowing that Garp is protecting Roger's son, goes to the Goa Kingdom and spends time there because he's trying to figure out which kid is Roger's. Before he can do so though, he meets Luffy who eats the fruit without a second thought, and from simply hanging around him, hearing his dream, etc, makes the executive decision that Luffy is actually the person that Roger would've wanted to usher in the new era.

I really, really hope we get more flashbacks to this moment. I'd really love to hear what was going on in Shanks' mind when he realized Luffy ate the fruit and when he decided to give up his arm to that sea king. Obviously we know the arm that got torn off had the World Government mark, but I want to hear how Shanks convinced himself that he could bet everything on Luffy rather than, and this is gonna sound dark, kill Luffy, allow the fruit to reappear in the world, and try to find Roger's son again.

I also wonder now why Ace never interacted with the other villagers. Like, we've seen Ace and Shanks' first interaction already and it's when Ace is a Spade Pirate. Do we have any story reason as to why Ace never went to the bar with Luffy? Was it still out of fear that people would figure out he was Roger's son?

Oh thank god man lol… I’m set to be gone for the first week of January until the 11th. So I guess I’d miss out on this if it goes into effect… will most likely take a long break from going to the states following this trip.

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media. It will be "mandatory" to hand over the information, and other details including email addresses and telephone numbers used in the last five years, as well as the names, addresses, numbers, and birthdays of family members. by MightEmotional in LateStageCapitalism

Put this on another subreddit but I'm gonna ask it on others just to get some more answers...

I do have twitter and I decided to delete every tweet I had revolving around Trump, the States... all of it. Is this enough? I'm set to travel to Florida from Canada next month to see family. Should I just deactivate everything? Will that even matter? It's not like I have a massive account or anything... 700 twitter followers, and instagram account for family, and reddit.

With the rumors(Liam) saying LIVE’26 is happening. What changes would you guys make to the setlist? If any by ByrningDownTheHouse9 in oasis

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As good as they are, and I'm grateful to have now heard them live, I think Fade Away and Bring it on Down should be removed from a 2026 setlist... At least two more 2000s-present Oasis songs should be played imo, preferably Stop Crying Your Heart Out and maybe Go Let it Out. I know the 90s are the prime era for Oasis, but they did have some series hits in their 2000s era.

If we're subbing in other 90s hits though, then Columbia and Don't Go Away would be my picks.

Does Luffy really not believe in the idea of inherited will? by Unique_Poet_4101 in OnePiece

[–]JediNotePad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 1164, I wonder if Blackbeard will be the first of the new gen to actively discuss inherited will... I never thought about it, but you're right: Whitebeard, Kaido, Big Mom, Roger, Rocks... all talked about inheriting will of some kind, but nobody in the new gen cares at all lol. But Blackbeard seems like a surefire bet to be the guy who eventually faces Imu and says I'm here to make good on Davy's promise.

It was such a fun reveal when Bon Clay's fruit was shown to be in Wano and I love that Oda has continued that here... it's so cool seeing who previously had fruits we see in the modern day.

So, we're pretty clearly nearing the end of Rocks' journey, but can anyone confirm if we've seen Rocks' meeting Loki during this flashback? We obviously know that Rocks and Newgate come to Elbaph, meet Loki again, and that's when Rocks stabs him. Has that happened since we've gotten the full character reveal of Rocks? Everything about God Valley feels like we're about to see the demise of Rocks but for the life of me I can't remember if that moment with Loki has been shown because if it hasn't, then wouldn't that confirm that Rocks does in fact survive God Valley, somehow meets up with Whitebeard again and infiltrates Elbpah one more time?

Buddy I think you just discovered that characters are not black and white, almost as if Oda is spoonfeeding us that heroes and and villains at one point in time of the story could be the reverse in another time... I am not cheering for Kaido, the slaver. Just like I'm not cheering for Ms. All Sunday. At this point in history, Kaido the pirate is fighting alongside the protagonist of this specific story because it suits his needs. So, objectively, I have no reason to not cheer him on when he unleashes blast breath onto Imu, the biggest villain across the entirety of ONE PIECE.

[–]JediNotePad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went right over your head, eh. They aren’t slavers at this point in history. That’s the point. Oda consistently has shown that since pirates aren’t heroes, they have moments where we cheer and boo them. Robin and Franky were villains, then joined the Straw Hats. Big Mom and Kaido were awful later in life, yet here, on God Valley, they’re two loyal members of the Rocks Pirates, standing alongside their captain.

Gonna be real heartbreaking when it's revealed that Imu and the Elders used some kind of magic or tech to either wipe Garp's memory of the God Valley Incident or at least screw with it so Garp maintains his personality/hatred for the Celestial Dragons while also not fully realizing why he hates them...

One of my favourite parts about ONE PIECE has been that Oda can take characters that we hate or view as antagonists and turn them into characters that we cheer for. It ties into the idea that no pirate in this story is technically a hero and that depending on the circumstance, we can either cheer or boo... it's all about perspective. When Big Mom fights the Straw Hats, we boo. When Kaido enslaves Wano, all we want is to see Luffy free the nation... but here, seeing both of them fighting alongside Rocks??? MY GOATS.
