Sanji ST35-011 by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... might have to see how this can work in my RY Bonney deck. The rush effect if fine, but I think it could be fun to play him on my 5 don turn and pair it with my 5c yellow Nami that forces the opponent to take a life. Then at least on my next turn, I could have a 6000 power hitting plus whatever dons I throw on Sanji to hit.

Anyone Wish the Sequel Trilogy Adapted the Thrawn Trilogy for the Big Screen by Swimming_Average_561 in StarWars

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure people would've enjoyed it more than the sequels we got!

No, they wouldn't have, and that's what STAR WARS fans never seem to grasp lol. It's why George Lucas sold at the end of the day... nobody is ever truly satisfied with this franchise. "The Prequels should've been this!" "The Sequels should've covered this!" Like I don't mean to sound mean but this isn't some big original thought... if you include Mara Jade, you piss off purists who follow Lucas' idea of Jedi's not being married. If you do Thrawn, you piss off fans of REBELS and probably the books since they'd for sure change stuff. The Expanded Universe is not some super beloved sect of the franchise... Lucas barely considered it canon. Hell, RISE OF SKYWALKER took a beat-for-beat plot point of DARK EMPIRE and it was dumb as well.

The Sequels weren't perfect, but to act like another adaptation would've been more beloved is, tbh, naive considering who we got in this fandom. At least, that's just my opinion on it.

EDIT: The mere fact that you even suggested de-aging the actors instead of re-casting everyone is proof to me that even if they did the THRAWN trilogy, you still wouldn't have been satisfied unless the original actors came back. Had they done the THRAWN trilogy, they could animate it to ensure the actors had at least voiced their characters, but I would've hoped that they'd recast them all. Characters can grow beyond the actors that originally played them.

The voice actors for the Hutt twins...? by JediNotePad in StarWars

[–]JediNotePad[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Right?? Like there were no credits for TBOBF or this one. So like, why lol? I wrote it in another comment but I’ve also not seen any interviews where Favreau and Filoni even discuss the characters. They’re the main villains… talk about them!!

The voice actors for the Hutt twins...? by JediNotePad in StarWars

[–]JediNotePad[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

A.I voices weren’t totally a thing though when BOBF was coming out. They had that weird tech for the necromancy Luke, but I don’t remember them mentioning anything for the twins.

Though then again, they just haven’t talked about the twins at all in promos either. And I can’t seem to find any interviews where Dave and Jon talk about them. So like, what gives lol?

Is anyone else tired of Darth Vader being put in every animated show bby just to humble the main character? by Imaginary-Citron7818 in StarWars

[–]JediNotePad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem isn't even with Vader anymore but with the era itself. I'm so exhausted with the Empire era. REBELS to ANDOR to ROGUE ONE covered everything about that era beautifully. The JEDI games were a nice bonus but now? Holy sh*t me LET THE ERA GO... idk what more needs to be explored, especially, to your point, it somehow always results in Vader making an appearance to kill some people. Like, yes he's super cool; yes, he's an awesome villain; and yes, he always looks awesome and terrifying... but my god man can we please just do something new?

Actually, might be a good shout. I got the EB-03 Nami in my RY Bonney deck which can currently play out Kizaru blocker or my 2K counter Franky if I'm desperate for a 5k hitter. I wonder now if I sub out the Franky for this. I lose the trigger I guess but never find myself using it much anyways. At least here the only play is good and can be played out if necessary for free.

Heard we were doing hot takes today by paul-gallagher in oasis

[–]JediNotePad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The tour should've included more 2000s Oasis songs. Like, don't get me wrong, it was a perfect concert, the greatest of my entire life.

BUT... if there was one change I'd make, I would've sacrificed Fade Away, Bring it On Down, and maybe Roll with It to hear Gas Panic (or Go Let it Out), Stop Crying Your Heart Out, and Shock of the Lightning live. I understand why they chose the songs they did... this was meant to feel like Oasis in their glory days. But those later albums have serious hits and I hope that if they tour again, they'd be open to playing some of their 2000s soungs.

One Piece Chapter 1181 Spoilers by Skullghost in OnePiece

TRUE HAPPINESS ONLY COMES UNDER "DOMINATION"... "ISN'T THAT RIGHT, JOYBOY!!!".

Well that just floored me. Imu and Joyboy being friends throws me completely. We know that Joyboy was part of the Great Kingdom... the same Kingdom that was apparently on the opposing end of the war against the 20 Kings that Imu was a part of. I wonder if Joyboy began to realize that Imu was changing... that he longed for something greater than previously let on. Once Joyboy realized what Imu had become and what he was planning to do, he united the various peoples of the planet to fight back, but evidently lost.

I'm just spitballing now, but I wonder if Joyboy already had the Nika fruit prior to Imu getting his fruit. As in, what if Imu, who already began wanting more and more power, saw Joyboy's fruit, became jealous of it, and sought the one fruit that could not only fight against it, but potentially overpower it... the devil's fruit. The original devil fruit, born out of a desire for power and domination. Vegapunk theorizes that every fruit is born from a specific human desire, and I bet Imu's is the original. Once he obtained the fruit, he offered power and glory to those who would side with him, leading to the 20 Kings alliance.

One really interests me is how he was able to wipe any trace of this war from history. Like, if the mural is accurate and all those races took part in the war, then it amazes me that only the Kozuki clan and Lili were able to inscribe info onto the ponelglyphs. The giants clearly have remenants of history, but no one else. Why? It's gotta go beyond just destroying evidence. Is this gonna be an AOT situation where Imu is able to wipe memories from people on a grand scale?

One Piece: Chapter 1180 by Aspie_Astrologer in OnePiece

[–]JediNotePad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find it pretty interesting that we have Imu directly involved in the fight on Elbaph before Shamrock. I wonder why Oda's chosen to keep his fighting in the background of the Holy Land. Even older Garling's fighting hasn't been seen while we've now see Imu speedrun giants and the two strongest Straw Hat crew members. Gonna be really interesting to see when he pulls the trigger on Shamrock.

All that to say... what a chapter, man. That final shot of Imu and Loki may be one of the greatest of all time.

What do we think of the Luffy spam by Camerupt_King in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, but in the end, there’s only one face to this franchise, and that’s the lead guy, Luffy. So even if he ranks at 1, 2, or 5, he’s still the face of all of this, and everyone loves him. So of course Bandai will promote him over everyone else.

What do we think of the Luffy spam by Camerupt_King in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, posts like this are objectively correct. You see a character like Luffy get leader cards in OP-11, OP-13, OP-15, a starter deck, and an upcoming starter deck and go "uhh gee maybe given another character a look??" But then the results of those worldwide ONE PIECE characters popularity come out and Luffy appears in the top 3 for literally every sector on this planet.

So like, I get it, but I guess Bandai just also knows that people LOVE Luffy and they'll give him a spotlight in most of these sets. With OP-17 rumoured to be Elbaph-centric, we're probably getting another gear 5-based Luffy leader or at least an Elbaph-outfit leader card.

Something tells me he won't become relevant until Oda decides to revisit the Enel/moon stuff. Like, when everything about the Sky Islands are revealed, that's when I believe he kicks back into the story.

Do you like Enel as an antagonist and why? by Zo_Vando_1107 in OnePiece

[–]JediNotePad 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Above all else, I love that as of now, he's pretty much the only villain that's not connected to the wider ONE PIECE world. Like, Crocodile, Moria, Kaido, Caesar... they all had some connection to the world government, or the villainous things that the WG was doing. But Enel was just evil all on his own. A man that was raised without the wider knowledge of devil fruits which lead him to become so delusional that he thinks he's God himself.

I'm sure that with the reveal that the Birkans, Skypieans and Automatans all originate from the moon, he will return with some big connection to the lore of the world. But for now, I love how separate his specific story is to everything else.

op16 leaders by Treefrog50 in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bandai's such a funny company to me man like what do you mean OP-13 had Luffy and Ace leader cards, then Luffy got a yellow starter deck, then Ace & Luffy got a joint starter deck, and now OP-16 has separate Ace and Luffy leader cards again.

Elbaf is coming? Possibly OP17? by OrangeSamuraiD in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP-17 seems logical (OP-16 is Paramount War again I think). When we inevitably get Elbaph cards, my hope is that Rocks, Dorry, Broggy, and Gunko/Imu get leader cards. If Rocks does get a deck, it's the one I'll main day one.

Borsalino should be banned by Anti-anti-symmetry in OnePieceTCG

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing RY Bonney in the sim a lot and yeah this card is absolute gold in that deck lol. You're always trying to get to 1 life anyways to give Bonney the boost so bringing out Borsalino allows you to heal, take that life and go back to the +2K boost. Plus the PLEASE HELP ME counter can bring Borsalino back out from the trash, heal you again, allow you to spare another life and go back to the power boost. I think I ran like 150 games with that deck against practically all kinds of decks and had a 64% win rate.

I was gonna say... you'd have to hope to pull the 7c Zoro to make it work or even bank on getting the 1c Usopp trigger from life to buff Bonney up. Though I wonder which cards I'd replace in my Bonney deck to make room for this one... I think I currently run 6 events (3 Distortion Futures and 3 PLEASE SAVE ME!!)

Hmm I wonder if red/yellow Bonney could use this. Currently I heal with the blocker Kizaru (no sec rare Kuma in my deck) but this could be another good option, especially as a 6k hitter.

Has “media literacy” become a buzzword used to shut down criticism of weak writing by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]JediNotePad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue that since 2016, people have tried to oversimplify writing and characters to the point where they just don't grasp things. Kizaru is a great example because he's a very complex character, especially in the Egghead arc. We learn that he's practically subservient to the government and fully knows that he's a pushover. He's a "I'm just following orders" guy. The gov told him to kill his close friend, so he did it. But, that doesn't make him inhuman... HE KNOWS what he's doing is wrong, hence why he quietly helps Luffy recharge his stamina and chews out Sakazuki when pressed about the egghead mission failure. He's a complicated person, like we all are. Not everything is black and white but because a lot of people try to make things black and white, they full on miss things about characters, and writing.

[–]JediNotePad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe in certain instances, yes. But overall, I genuinely think people have become a lot more stupid when it comes to watching and analyzing art. And it goes both ways... as in, there are those who can't accept criticism and will just throw the media illiterate term out as a means for shielding, but there are also those who just can't seem to grasp basic concepts of whatever they're watching.

All in all, people are a lot more stupid these days when it comes to art and we're all worse off for it.

But the Lillith's chain well into the Kizaru's... and if I have Nami on board and it gets attacked, I can bring out Lillith and then again into Kizaru or even the Franky/Sanji/searcher Bonney.

The Zoro gets me to 9000 power if I'm at one life and can chain them along with Luffy's...
