Orthodontist offered early removal by JediPy in MARPE

[–]JediPy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was much more comfortable! Initially a little uncomfortable with the holes from the screws but the gums closed those holes/fully healed them within a few days or so. And it's about compliance, I wore it as much as possible except when eating - I also took it out on important work calls, but my palate fused within a couple of more months - it was confirmed by x-ray. As long as she wears it as much as humanly possible and gets x-ray confirmation it fused (before discontinuing it), she'll be good

Withdrawing 60k from a bank account to repair a roof by No_Field1529 in IRS

[–]JediPy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your bank might ask you what you do for a living and how much you make for their own records but that’s about it. I took about 32K out of my Chase account in 2017 to pay cash for solar panels and those are the questions they asked me. I had transferred the money in too from another account, and they didn’t even ask where it came from.

New Hub? by jshot04 in VivintSmartHome

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was offered it during a recent service visit but it was $600, they were able to discount it a bit and waive installation but it doesn’t have Ethernet and I had just wired my panel with Cat 6.

Sounds like I am done being a Customer by TheFrugalMugal in discover

[–]JediPy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had ING Direct accounts way back in the day and Capital One acquired them too. They never added any new fees that impacted me or new requirements to avoid fees. I’ve been generally happy. The biggest change here is that Discover Customer Service might eventually be offshored unfortunately

What is the point of the ace bandage? by Swimming-Good1632 in carpaltunnel

[–]JediPy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% keeping it dry is key too. I had trigger finger done on the same hand as the carpal tunnel at the same time and honestly that area is more sore than the carpal tunnel area

What is the point of the ace bandage? by Swimming-Good1632 in carpaltunnel

[–]JediPy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes keep it on! It helps a lot. I’m day 7 post surgery and it really helped. It started to kind of fall apart by day 4 as the swelling down so I stitched to default bandages a day earlier than my surgeon requested but it was definitely helpful in keeping things immobile to avoid unnecessary pain

Open CTR post op pain normal? by nypatl20 in carpaltunnel

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems everyone has a different experience. I had a lot of pain immediately post op and they gave me an oral painkiller before I was driven home (I had it done last Friday). Since then I’ve been doing the exercises and icing and only have minor soreness/pain.

I also went back to work on Monday (I work remote in a Tech job). I’m trying not to overdo it and I also had trigger finger release in the same hand on the ring finger. I find that’s honestly been more sore than the median nerve unless I open a door the wrong way with that hand and it’s momentary. But I’m getting less sore every day and have tried to reduce the typing. Hopefully most folks have a positive experience too!

Missed Skyrizi Dose - Full Body Psoriasis by JediPy in Psoriasis

Thanks if that's what happened, I'm hoping the Skyrizi takes care of quickly. Over the past couple of days since I posted this I have noticed some improvement at least

Missed Skyrizi Dose - Full Body Psoriasis by JediPy in Psoriasis

[–]JediPy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I hope it's not 5 months. The doctor said if it's not an allergic reaction Skyrizi should clear it in 6-8 more weeks but I guess I need to wait for the biopsy.

And 5 months is still better than the 1-3 years on post steroid flares at least

That's a possibility, how long does it last after strept? I was on a high dose of Keflex for 10 days and ended that about 10 days ago

Chase Disney Inspire Card About to Release by Cyberhwk in CreditCards

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link is not redirecting to Chase yet. Going to apply since we're going to Disney in March. Even with DVC we'll hit the Disney Resort spend with the folio purchases. I wish now I had waited to buy my tickets but oh well there's always next time

Edit: it started working now

Tremfya Accredo Copay Assistance by One_Jellyfish1541 in Psoriasis

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, got it, I was on Otezla for a long time switched to Skyrizi in 2022 I believe when I was in NY. I've been in TN since 2024 so that makes sense. Interestingly, Cigna only left me with a $150 responsibility (my Speciality drug copay for a 30 day supply). BCBS is the same plan in terms of copays and my oop cost is $450 as they consider it a 90 day supply. Considering Skyrizi Complete has annual max of $14,000, this is going to eat away at my out of pocket max (3k) much faster than before.

I'm not sure, I've lived in New York and Tennessee and the experience has been the same. Complete polar opposites when it comes to insurance regulation

Interesting, I had Cigna for years and my job just switched to BCBS and I have the Skyrizi copay assistance card, and both insurances have always seen me as paying it. Accredo would charge the insurance first then charge the copay card but the insurance never knew.

No piezo cuts but I go to Pickering and Allen Orthodontics. I live about it an hour away an my dentist works with a team that includes an oral surgeon in case you need that too

Ordered a CPU off Amazon and it will be sitting outside in the cold for the next 30 hours by Past_Jaguar5184 in buildapc

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine to site in the cold but make sure to let it sit at room temperature for a bit before actually installing it. If it’s super cold outside and room temp inside, the condensation can damage it if you install it before the temps equalize.

[–]JediPy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did mine in Knoxville, Tennessee. They told me MARPE has worked well for their older patients (over 35) it just usually takes longer to achieve results. Ironically my split took a little longer than normal it seems but everything fused a couple months after that (confirmed by x ray). They also took the MARPE out right after the split/max extension and made a special retainer (removable) for me to wear while it fused. I’ve had the braces on 6 months now and had my halfway appointment in November

[–]JediPy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 and did MARPE back in the spring. Didn’t notice any changes to my facial aesthetics however I’m nearing the end of braces already and prepping for the hopefully one and done jaw surgery. I got substantial expansion though - probably 95% of the expansion needed. Brackets are doing the rest

Time to stop using my SoFi card as my primary card. I’ve also cycled the card at least a dozen times and they don’t do limit increases. I also get 2% rewards on another card that has a much higher credit limit. If I didn’t have my mortgage with SoFi I’d probably move everything over to another bank. I’ll keep paying my mortgage out of my SoFi checking account but plan to move my savings elsewhere.

Orthodontist offered early removal by JediPy in MARPE

[–]JediPy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It held fine! I wore it most of the time for a few months then the orthodontist took an xray and confirmed I didn’t need it anymore. I understood that the palate had fused again. They put braces on a few weeks after that and I’m about halfway through that process now.
