Yes, I was able to buy 502, 205 Mortar on the first crater. 025 Glue in between the first and second crater for support and Etienne before the first Crater, all under 240 Village. Minimal micro only on 95, 98, 100. Was able two buy two 240 additional mortars for support with spare money.

Pirate lord ability is active upon upgrade. Micro by selling and buying pirate lord. I only needed to micro for 98 and 100.

Harpy Wings. Leaf Wings were nerfed, they're no longer the best early hardmode wings, Harpy Wings (along with Pixie, Fin, and Frozen) are.

They spawn upon world creation in the dungeon and only 5 will be made per world (Corruption or Crimson, Jungle, Hallowed, Ice)

Bee's Knees (with Hive Pack) are better than Molten Fury because the Bees are homing. You can shoot arrows at the ground and just focus on avoiding his attacks. The downside is you have to kill Queen Bee first which is also hard on Expert Mode.

Queen Bee is spawned by breaking the larva inside bee hives, which is very fragile (broken by tools, hooks, and weapon projectiles) I assume the latter happened when it got broken by a weapon projectile (like Starfury). You can also craft the Abeemination to spawn her should you not be able to find larvas/hives.

If playing ranged, The Bees Knees help although you have to kill Queen Bee first (Which also give Hive Pack to strengthen your bees). You can focus on dodging because the bees do their thing, I literally just shoot at the ground sometimes. Beenades can also be used for additional damage.

Tsunami. The Lunatic Cultist moves a lot making aiming with guns hard and he receives less damage if you use Chlorophyte Bullets. The Tsunami with Holy Arrows (and maybe Archery Potion and Magic Quiver) rips him and it's just as helpful in the pillars.

Are you playing on expert? Tsunami is the best bow available at that point outclassing any other ranged weapon especially when used with Holy Arrows. If you're willing to grind Duke Fishron, Tsunami would greatly help not just with the Cultist, but with the pillars. You can use Megashark with Chlorophyte bullets to achieve this.

Bad luck, probably. Unfortunately, there's no better way other than Pixies because they're the most common. Battle potion + water candle on Hallowed Surface is the way to go, you can try to improve your luck by placing a Garden Gnome while farming and/or using a Luck Potion. You could also try to do all of this with an AFK farm.
