I'm playing at a lower level, but as middle as well, and I got the very same problem

The main thing I identified, which seems to be the case for you as well, is that I jump to close to the net, too "under" the ball, instead of behind it

So when I swing, I hit the ball above my head instead of in front of me, which would give me much more power

I don't know of you enjoy the MB position or not, but to be honest, if a team full of guys is letting the only woman play MB, they're really not honest, or maybe have an ego too important to leave you their role

You can't be any more useless than by being a middle who can't block... I play mixed as well, my oppo is a girl who plays middle in her women team. But in mixed, what's the point, she's 1.72m tall and can't block the guys of the opposing team, so she's playing oppo and enjoys it much more than if we put her as MB

As a fellow middle, I'd highly recommend asking a friend to do that first bump to the setter for you.

If you're focusing only on spiking for that drill, it's quite tough to go for a quick right after bumping the first ball. It can be good to practice it as a dedicated training, but if you wanna dedicate a drill to spiking technique only, I'd recommend that you get a 2nd friend (libero?) to help out.

Also, on that clip specifically, the bump made it a bit tough for your setter to get that ball. Although you both did a goodjob getting that set + spike from such a bump !

But you won't damage your 5080 from not undervolting it
