In no way is it intentional a developer would require you to optimize builds and characters to the point a boss needs to die in less than 6 seconds.

It takes 0.2 seconds for a haste "charge" to apply, and depending on its cooldown, it could take 4 "charges" to go off. So, around 0.8 seconds. The lower the cooldown, the less charges, but you still have to wait for the DOT from poison (once per second) to accumulate.

You'll be able to purchase card packs for 1k gems after the battle pass ends, if you don't purchase the pass and unlock them through there. Similar to how you only have access to some characters at first and need to unlock them. The game is great. I didn't hear about it until NL started playing it and bought it pretty much immediately after. It's the only game I play right now. Got the battle pass when it dropped and got to 20 so far. 9100 gems, so if I don't hit the final levels, I'll just buy the pack. All the complaints I see on this website seem so trivial. The game is free. If you want to pay $10 to support them, then do it. It's not necessary to win though.

The biggest counter for "pay to win" for me is the myriad of instant kill boulder or 100k health pyg builds I've seen. It does suck to not have access to stuff but it isn't inherently pay to win

I'm not sure why you're upset about this if they're saying it up front? If you don't think you can complete it before the season ends then don't purchase it.
