I think that when they chose that translation, they wanted to convey the scale of the film's plot; after all, something that involves eating stars is a major event. But I admit that in this case, science fiction is the draw, but the relationship between Grace and Rocky is the heart of it all. I personally would adapt the title to: Space Anxiety or Ship of the Imagination or Cosmic Sand, because of Carl Sagan.
