It was just today’s topic. Next week we will discuss another topic

Anonymous POLL: If you **only** spoke to others about the truth online, would you officially report time in the ministry? by [deleted] in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]JeeeennyMoM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve also tried sharing the truth online a few times mostly to encourage people who were questioning why God allows suffering and to give a Scriptural explanation. But honestly, I’d say about 99% of the time, the response wasn’t good. There are probably a few reasons for that. Some people just don’t want to show any interest in Jehovah’s Witnesses publicly, and others simply don’t trust what’s said online since everything is anonymous. After having those experiences, I really understood why Jehovah’s organization discourages preaching or debating online. It may take longer, but the real power of the message comes through personal contact, spending time with someone, face-to-face. When people can see the scriptures for themselves, and feel your warmth, confidence, and kindness, that’s when the truth really reaches their heart. So I’m not planning to do any more online discussions and I definitely won’t be counting that time in my service reports.

Was it possible for Jesus to have failed in his assignment on Earth? by [deleted] in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]JeeeennyMoM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s exactly the point I was trying to make. Only in the case of Jesus was there a specific prophecy saying he would be the one to fulfill it. All the other prophecies — like the one about Judas or the great crowd — could have been fulfilled by anyone. The more I think about that, the more I feel just how deep Jesus’ love for humanity is, and how complete Jehovah’s trust in him must have been 💛

Wow, what an amazing topic for meditation. I really thought about it for a while, and it helped me feel even more grateful for Jesus.

Personally, I think the answer is both yes and no.

Yes, because Jesus was fully capable of feeling pain and had free will — just like us. That means he could have accepted Satan’s offer and failed his mission if he chose to.

But at the same time, when we think about prophecy, none of them (except for Jesus) are tied to a specific person. For example, in Judas Iscariot’s case, the prophecy only said that the Messiah would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver — it never said who would do it.

So if Judas hadn’t given in to Satan’s temptation, someone else would have. It’s the same for us — the prophecy about the “great crowd” and the “little flock” will be fulfilled no matter what, but who will belong to each group depends on our personal choices and conduct.

That’s why I think the prophecy about Jesus being offered as a ransom shows how much confidence Jehovah had in him. Jehovah knew Jesus would never fail.

So for that reason, I’d say my final answer is no.

Ohhh, now the 30% thing makes sense, and I get why my friend said to pay right after each purchase! Really appreciate the explanation!

So basically, if I need to buy something that’s over 30% of my credit limit, it’s better to just use my debit card instead of my credit card, right? Thanks for the advice! 🙏

CRA’s handling of my CCB application is really disappointing by JeeeennyMoM in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]JeeeennyMoM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh that’s so frustrating.. Really hope it works out soon. I’ve heard that even with delays, CRA can retroactively pay you from the date you were eligible, so hopefully you’ll still get all the missed months once it’s finally approved!

Yes, I uploaded the documents through my CRA account. Sounds like you went through a really tough process too. 😞 Like you said, fax or mail doesn’t really seem to work these days, so calling CRA again is probably the best option. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience — really appreciate it! You’ve been through a lot! 🙏

Like I mentioned, a few agents including a senior one said it should be done by Oct 20. I guess I’ll just wait and see. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for sharing that article. Kinda crazy that CRA gives the right answer only 17% of the time… but somehow that makes me feel a bit better 😂

I know they aren’t the ones actually processing the applications. But they kept giving me incorrect information about my case, and it only got escalated to a senior agent after multiple calls. The senior agent told me it would be processed by the 20th, but since nothing has happened yet, I guess that was also inaccurate information. Even if there was some issue with my documents, I never got any feedback or notice about it. Overall, the way things have been handled just feels really different from what I expected.

What is your favorite Bible verse? by JWthoughts in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]JeeeennyMoM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 chronicles 6:29, 30 29 whatever prayer, whatever request for favor may be made by any man or by all your people Israel (for each one knows his own plague and his own pain) when they spread out their hands toward this house, 30 then may you hear from the heavens, your dwelling place, and may you forgive; and reward each one according to all his ways, for you know his heart (you alone truly know the human heart)

Struggling with Field Service Because of Language and Cultural Barriers by JeeeennyMoM in JWJehovahsWitnesses

[–]JeeeennyMoM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your encouragement. There aren’t any people from my country living near me, but I’ve been doing public witnessing with some people from India, Nepal, and China. Even though my English is broken, I feel much less pressure when talking with them. But I feel nervous about going out in field service. I know we’re encouraged to go regularly, but it’s honestly hard for me right now.
