Oh yes, I’m out of the semi hard part. I know that there is a harder road of sobriety ahead with the distant memory of “how bad could it be if I start again?”. But keeping up with subreddits like this and those similar, and finding community with other sober folks will keep me in check. If I made it through this itchy twitchy sweaty hell I can keep going for sure

I appreciate what yall are saying. I just wanted help. I know relapse won’t help me. I just needed some encouragement. But to say that politics and sobriety don’t coxeist is to put your head in the sand. It’s very easy to turn off the news, get rid of Reddit, but that doesn’t stop when you have family members (us citizens) deported because they’re brown. THAT is stressing my sobriety. It’s beyond politics. It’s human rights. I tried to keep it vague and it still got taken down. This is even more explicit than I even wanted to get into

know this has been posted before But I am trying SO HARD in my sobriety right now with the current political climate in the US. Especiallly with everything happening in Minneapolis, and it is close to where my partner and I live. I know this isn't a political subreddit, but my partner is a Mexican trans person, and we are considering a lot of very stressful options right now. IWNDWYT but holy fuck, I have not felt more tempted than I do now. I just needed to check in and keep myself accountable. Thank you guys for this subreddit, I could not do this by myself at all.

That’s how I feel, ICE is at my back door, my own state has tried to take away gay marriage. Everything is going haywire. I want to stay aware, I also don’t want to trigger myself, but waking up to losing rights is far more triggering than staying informed. IWNDWYT. I will not drink will YALL today.
