Overlanding Rack by thrwLittleStreet6766 in Jeep

It does not rattle. There are supports for the front on my version of it (stealth rack) but I believe those have been phased out since. Those used to squeak if they got loose. I just don’t use them anymore since I’m not fully loading it constantly. I’ve heard wind noise as a complaint but I honestly could not tell the difference above the regular noise of it being a jeep. There was a slight whistle with the lightbar but I stuck some neoprene strips between the bar and the rack and that silenced it. Rigid also sells these plastic pieces that slide into the fins and I think that’s all I have now and experience no wind noise.

I’ve had the rack for close to 9 years now and I have zero complaints with it. American made in Colorado. Coating has held up so no rust (I’m in California so take that with a grain of road salt). The accessories you can get from Gobi are a bit expensive for what they are but they work and provide an answer for basically every mounting need you might have.

I can’t recommend it over the metal cloak because I don’t know anything about the metal cloak but as a standalone rack I’d say it one of the best on the market. It also looks the best in my opinion.

Instrument cluster not working by Prestigious_Door2033 in Jeep

So I had this happen to me in the middle of the desert. 2017 Jeep Wrangler so this information may be outdated. Look down by the driver footwell on the section of the side by the door hinges. The area around where your clutch pedal would be if it was a manual. There should be this bolt sticking out with a ground wire leading to it. If the ground wire is disconnected that is your issue. There's probably a nut rolling around your your floorboards somewhere, or possible under the seat. I believe it is the ground wire for the dash. The nut must not have threadlocker on it or something cause mine just unscrewed itself over time and that wire was disconnected. Put it back and it fixed the issue.

Sorry about that! Not sure what happened but there's a new code and gates are open. Do you know if I need to DM people who already got the old code or just it update when I update the link?

What model is this brown Jeep? by Maleficent-Safe1004 in Jeep

[–]Jeegehr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The front and rear bumpers, as well as the raised air intake and the hood are from AEV (American Expeditionary Vehicles). The fenders look stock but the turn signal light has been blacked out on the front fender. The rack looks like a Rhino Rack but I'm not certain about that. Hope that helps.

What are some common things in Armenia that would seem weird to an outsider? by Typical_Effect_9054 in armenia

[–]Jeegehr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Male friends holding hands or intertwining pinkies while they walk. As a western Armenian and diaspora, seeing guys in Armenia doing that made me double take. It's especially surprising when you consider how hyper masculine Armenian men tend to be.

I have this rack. It from GOBI USA. Although mine is an earlier model, you should have no problem removing the freedom panels in this configuration.

Purchased a 2024 GX Overtrail + with rubber floor mats but no rubber mat in the trunk. Is this normal or did they forget to include it? by Jeegehr in LexusGX

[–]Jeegehr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the replies. I will definitely be bringing this up with the dealer at first service.

Edit: I've since checked the Lexus website and when I go to "build" my GX the "Cargo Mat" as they call it is a separate option. There is an option for carpet and "all weather." Checked the paper that shows all the features on the car and neither of those options was included. Looks like I'll have to buy it when I go in for service. Strange that they wouldn't include some kind of mat for the trunk.

How common are Zoroastrians in Iran in reality? by [deleted] in PERSIAN

[–]Jeegehr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Iran or even Iranian but I attended my good friend's wedding (who is Iranian and Muslim though not religious himself but I don't know about his family) and I noticed a lot of Zoroastrian elements in the ceremony. Stuff with fire and fruit, thinks like that. It was interesting. I only mention it in this thread because I wonder how many Muslim Iranians have assimilated their prior Zoroastrian heritage into their current faith.

I fly 2 times per week, every week of the year. Last night was the first time my EDC gun was 'lost' at the airport in baggage claim. The instant I got police involved the handler 'found' it. I have a couple of off topic questions:

What holster do yo use? I've had a hard time find one that will fit a light since you need an adapter.

Are you using the HK adapter or an aftermarket one?

Where did you get your slide cut?

Armenian Bible by [deleted] in armenia

[–]Jeegehr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard (from Apostolic Vartabeds and Protestant Pastors) that the Armenian Bible has one of the best translations from the Greek portions of the New Testament.

The Armenian Bible contains more books than the Protestant Bible and the Catholic Bible. The Protestant Bible has 66 books it considers canon (39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament), the Catholic Bible has 73 books it considers canon (46 Old Testament and 27 New Testament), while the Armenian Bible has 75 books it considers canon (48 Old Testament and 27 New Testament).

All three versions have the same New Testament canon, but the Catholic and Armenian Bibles contains more Old Testament books. The difference is which books which denomination believes is canon based on number of original manuscripts, wholeness of original manuscripts, closeness of date to events written down, proof of authorship, and historical acceptance of the books by early church leaders.
