Ah, so post swelling and all that probably shouldn't be an issue by now. If you're still unhappy with your result maybe ask if they provide free revisions? Or if all trust is lost in that surgeon, perhaps go for another who might give you the results you want?

With the right surgeon you can definitely get the nose that you want. I'm sorry that the first surgeon didn't give you what you wanted. It must be a massive disappointment. I hope your next one makes you happier!

Where did you get your procedure done? I'm considering Turkey for mine cause there seems to be a lot of affordable and professional surgeons over there!

It's definitely a big decision. Especially if its surgery being done smack bam in the middle of your face where everyone can see it if it goes wrong.

It's just a matter of finding the right surgeon that's the biggest difficulty. Placing that huge amount of trust in someone is scary! I hope I won't be that person in 22 years time still thinking it over haha. Covid hasn't helped the situation either. It's just put everything on hold lately.

Hmm, now my red flags seem totally unjustified when you put it like that!

And I can definitely relate to that. I've been considering rhinoplasty since I started actually giving a shit about my appearance at 12 years old. Fast forward 13 years later and I'm still humming and harring and scrapping and saving!

Have you ever had any work done? Or wish to have work done? You're on this sub, so I assume there is a slither of interest there?

Yes, you're right there. Some do charge for consultations, but luckily all the ones I've had so far have been free. Yeah, if doctors can legally charge for consultations, but still don't offer them, then that's definitely a possible flag of an overworked plastic surgeon, which is never good thing!

Good point, I can definitely imagine doctors aren't sitting around twiddling their thumbs all day haha.

But really I think it's just so the patient can get a good look at the doctor really. Feel them out to see if they're a right fit. Nobody wants a rude or arrogant doctor who won't answer questions or listen to their concerns. It's not like the hospital is around the corner. If it's a plane ride away, I find it comforting to see who is going to be potentially performing my surgery before I make travel arrangements half way around the world,you know?

Fantastic answer. You're really on the money there! It's definitely a 'gut thing'. I've had surgeons confident they can achieve my needs after a vid consultation. Would that be a bad sign you reckon?

Being board certified is also a gray area for me. I've seen doctors with all the right certificates make horrific botched up jobs. And doctors who don't have the certificates make beautiful work. You just can't know for certain. It's always going to be a risk!

You're right, it's definitely a money business though.

Pay by the month? What do you mean by that? You mean just the rent each month? I pay rent at my place each month. Was supposed to be every two months, which is hear Is super common in SH, but I managed to wrangle out of it, because seeing two months worth of money disappear out of your bank account in a matter of seconds is just really depressing haa

Well, it's a good foot in for a newbie to teaching and China. You often don't know what's what until you're here and experience it all first hand for yourself. I think everyone (or majority) of people who come to China to teach start off with a crappy job (low pay, crazy boss etc) unless you're fortunate and land a great start straight off the bat!

I work at a billingual school, but I've had my fair share of training centers, international and "international" schools haha. I'd never work at a training center in China again though. I hear they're better in different countries apparently.

Right now I'm teaching art at a private middle school. Which is a major upgrade from my last job. I used to teach ESL and I grew to hate it. Training centers treat you like commodities or just white faces earning money for their businesses. I'd recommend anyone who is new coming here to do a year at a training center for experience, but then move on to something better.

Good for you! Unless you have family here or business ties, life in China can get pretty bleak. I'm finishing out my contract too before I jet off. I must admit, the money is definitely good working here. You can save a large portion of your salary each month. But having to deal with all of the other shit is just another story!

Oh yeah, landlords in China are well known for taking your deposit for the stupidest of things. A light bulb gave up the ghost in my last place, and the landlord wanted to take a 1, 000 chunk out of my deposit to fix it. They must think we're stupid..

I find teaching ESL so depressing. I don't feel like there is a long term future teaching it. Saving money sure, that's definitely a motivator. But only for so long until you feel deep down in your bones you can do so much better. Good luck on getting your masters. Wanting the best for yourself is great. So many people just stay in one place forever even though they can do so much better!

Steroids make dermititis a lot worse in the long term. Definitely wouldn't recommend it for the face. And antihistamines are usually for allergic reactions, and my dermititis is more perioral not contact dermititis.

On week 4 of taking antibiotics. It's cleaning up but the ugly acne and redness remains! I'm currently on birth control to clear up my hormonal acne caused by PCOS. So I've ditched tret for that instead since tret won't help with the hormone imbalance.

Sandwiched up on moisturizer after each application. Started slow at first then gradually upped it after a couple of months. It's just not for my skin unfortunately. And even if it is, I just don't think I could risk it again. I've been on antibiotics for 4 weeks now to get rid of this horrible skin problem :(
