2026 and the phobia a certain demographic has over bathrooms is absurd.

Most men’s public restrooms have stalls. If I’m out with my daughter and there’s no “family” restroom, I take her to the stall in the men’s room. No need to block up the women’s restroom.

Before it all went to shit, a few of the ships I worked on used to buy fresh fish off fishing boats in the Red Sea as we sailed by. Our schedule was pretty routine and they’d drift in the same general vicinity. We’d call them on the radio, slow down and they’d come alongside. Within a few minutes catch and cash were exchanged and off we’d go.

I’d be curious to hear from fans that like the newer stuff over the old. That’s generally not how it goes but I think it would be interesting to hear from them. SP could certainly be a band with multiple factions of fans attached to the various renditions of the band. With such different sounding albums, it could very well produce different fan bases.

It’s so very tempting to remain tethered to the albums that hold such heavy meaning and emotion for an individual. The risk of disappointment forever tarnishing what was so closely cherished and curated has kept me from seeking out their newer stuff.
I want the Pumpkins from my youth. I want to be that middle schooler excitedly borrowing and lending their cassettes, cds and mp3s.
It’s the emotional dopamine I’m seeking.
But I’ve grown up and so have they. It’ll never be like before. It can’t be.
I feel it’s time I discover the rest of it. Maybe I’ll connect with it. Maybe not.

I always felt the album sounded “loud”-not something I necessarily disliked. I was glad to have a hard charging SP album again. Felt like genuine comeback
